Thank you stating the obvious. If a staff is caught abusing they will be warned/fired/possibly banned, and trust me when I say that they have the resources to monitor such behavior.

and if a player suspects someone is doing something wrong but it turns out false? this would scare people from reporting because they're afraid of being punished.

having to moderate reports on top of all the idiots the GPs have to deal with is demanding.

3 consecutive reports violating and abusing the system can lead to a temporary ban.

If a player does it falsely 3 times consecutively obviously there's something they're not getting and should be given a course or small test they should go through to get them to understand etiquette of reporting

If a baby keeps touching a hot stove and they're not learning it's obvious there needs to be some intervention to prevent it lol

There should be ambassadors that are members of the community that get pinged for things like harassment etc and can moderate it there and if they see violation they can ping a staff who can moderate for a few seconds to see the issues.

Ambassadors would have no other power besides being able to ping a staff if they are catching in-action proof of something a staff member can easily warp to and handle from there.

just like habbo does, there are ambassadors that can mute a player for an hour for hate speech etc,

This would be too complicated of a system and it would fk up people and make them go power crazy or hunger for the chance to be an ambassador,so I'll mark if as unlikely.But maybe incoming GPS could go through an ambassador trial stage like this so there can be organization pertaining to who handles which specific requests

Yeah, "if" is a big keyword there. Who knows how long Soren would have gotten away with abusing his powers if I hadn't spent 2 weeks crying about it in my status and on the forums.

How does one get caught for improperly banning players under the premise that they were "lagging too much" though? Not every GP is as stupid and careless as Soren was. I think it'd be easy to get away with, especially if the banned player isn't fluent in English.

You do not allow GPs to permanently ban people and limit the amount of time for bans. Easy.

How it's already done. GPs don't choose the time for bans. Only high ups can permanently ban.

I'm sure Thallen would be a fine GP, but can understand not wanting that responsibility. Babysitting hundreds of children sounds awful.

I guess better monitoring and logging of staff activity would be needed if it can go as undetected as Thallen makes it appear. What a hassle.

I'm really not, but if it means that there will be at least one person actively enforcing the rules at towers and in the arena then I'd do it. That was supposed to be Fulgore's job, but he lost access to his laptop.

Even if I submitted a Pulitzer Prize-winning application, I wouldn't be hired due to my account's history being a mess. One of the current GPs actually sent me a video of my account history (which is illegal). It's filled with "Scam Alert" (from having bit.ly URLs in my status) and "Boost Alert" (great joke) triggers. There is also a mark that claims my kills/deaths were reset (never happened). There are about 20 "Unban" marks yet only about 10 "Ban" marks. I don't know why any of this exists.

I've been banned two times, both which were immediately overturned. I've had my status reset a few times. I've been warped away from towers about 100 times for trivial reasons. 80 of those were probably from Soren. So yes, the best I can do is plead that people do the job correctly.

Can we please /closeThread , this has completely gone off topic and is just people trying to take shots at each other. Either way when a person normally get banned they are told to go to toonslab , so let's not give anyone special treatment? If the band truly not at fault then I'm sure who ever manages ban appeals will resolve the issue as it should be.

On a side note, what can warrant an admin to check someone's pm history? If they report someone else will they have reason to check the person who placed the report?
