Who decides the winners?

It's probably going to have to be a Google form. As I mentioned, we can't use a poll on the forums (which I think I might have liked the best). Discord is probably off the table, I know a lot of people here aren't in the Discord and I'm not sure there is currently a functional invite link.

I plan to ask for the voter's email and their Graalians.com username in the form to prove they have an account here.

So are you going to match the Graalian's registered email address to the form? If it doesn't match, are you going notify that the voter's vote got nullified?

What's your plan for flooding new account registration? For last 7 years, they manually approved to prevent spammy accounts, but with this event I'd expect like 100+ new register request every day. Do they even qualify for voting?

If the voter's email doesn't match their registration email, I plan to send them a forum message asking if they were the one who voted and nullify their vote unless the user tells me it was their vote. Should we go the Google form route, it will be clearly stated that your email needs to match the one on your Graalians.com account.

I'm considering adding a cut off date (ex. accounts created after some date don't get to vote) so people don't try and register a bunch of new alternate accounts to cheat the system.

I don't think registration will be flooded, though. Should I have reason to believe otherwise?

I'm just discussing the voting methods and they aren't set in stone quite yet.

because so many people submitted their videos thru offsite. they seem to not have a graalians account. so if the voting opens, they are going to register and also invite their friends to register. which is good for graalians tbh. the forums been dead for awhile actually. this might be a good time to bring it back to life. who knows?

This is probably too much work as the contest is held throughout multiple servers but since the contest was publicly advertised in the news, why can't there just be an in-game voting system via automated broadcast(s)/or an additional temporary in-game menu option that allows you to select the videos that you enjoy from the submitted list(either a post filled with the video entries from Graalians.com or a website)? Since the game already has a hold of our account information, I assume it would be easy to tell if someone is using more than one account to vote or not.. If not, then there is still the option of having only "verified" accounts(with minimum hours of ##) to vote in-game, which would be a way better option imo than having everyone sign up to vote via Graalians.com.

Yeah, I understand your sentiment. That's a large reason why I'd like to keep voting restricted to Graalians users, even if the actual voting method isn't a poll on the site.
