You're completely off the mark. I was a casual shipper for Bolin x Korra. What really bothers me is the creators pairing Korra and Asami. Most of the fandom seems to be supporting it too.

may i ask why does it bother you ?

If you think that Bolin had a better relationship with Korra than Asami, then I think you need to rewatch LoK

Not trying to sound like a homophobe, but I just don't think a gay/lesbian ship fits Avatar. Especially since they were both originally shown as straight in the first two seasons and then are revealed as bisexual in either season 3 or 4. That's what bothers me the most. Sorry if that reason doesn't suit some people, but that's what I think.

Ok I finished everything last night. I watched like the last 6 episodes.

Spoilers btw

Things I liked:
Toph and her consistency, more of a cameo which made more sense. (some times you just need to leave it to the kids....)

VARICK. Seriously best character of avatar universe period. And his romance with julie was the absolute best.

The villian, Kuvira. She was a pretty scary person not gonna lie.

Bolin and his character build he was great comic relief. I always felt like he was bench-pressing when he would earth bend, i thought it was funny too lol

The idea of a super weapon, and how it was actually really devastating.

The way Kuviras right-hand man got off completely free from our protagonists after Kuvira betrayed him.

The political situations, where the leaders of the world were debating and stuff. I do like the political anime situations though

The recap episode. It was funny lol and it gave a breather. For the first part when Makos story was playing out I though it was going to be a 30 minute recap of Makos love life! LOL

Pema. Pema is a very cute character lol

Things I didn't like:

The animation of the mech suit. UCK. Should had scrapped the whole idea and brought something in like a completely decked out war ship.

Kuvira metalbending the mechsuits cannon after its destruction. Didn't they say earlier that it was really fragile and if any small parts went wrong then it wouldn't work? That cannon had been through ALOT and yet it was still ready to fire a shot 10 times longer than any of the other ones it fired?

The fact that people kept warping all around the world. It felt like the writers kept picking out 5 or 6 people from the giant group and then, "lets go on a top secret mission to save our friends"

The lack of death. Normally this would be okay for me in the avatar universe, but that spirit vine superweapon was fired at our heroes like 30 times, every time just skimming them. Dumb.

Speaking of deaths, I didn't understand why asamis father could not eject with her. Was him sitting in the seat allowing the drill to continue? He's a smart guy yet that was his best strategy?

The whole ending. The cast was just too big to give a proper goodbye without an entire episode dedicated to it, but it came way to fast. Woah look, Korra just saved the bad guy using avatar powers. Woah look a portal. Woah they are at a wedding. Woah look Korra and Asami are holding hands going into the spirit world. (Btw when they touched hands it made a ding noise- i laughed)

I dont think kuveria was metalbending the cannon cause its platinum and that cant be bended. I think it was being held by q bunch of vines

I'm disappointed she let Bumi best her. King Bumi was ****ing ancient and still was one of the most powerful Earth Benders in the world, and he participated in the war and kicked armies of ass all Fire Nation by himself. He also managed to matched Aang 1v1.

I always got the impression Toph, self-proclaimed most powerful Earth Bender ever, would have been more competitive in trying to top the fact Bumi kept fighting well over the age of 100.

Ghettoicedtea 12-31-2014 06:42 PM

Uh she took out a whole battalion of mechs in one move and managed to save a group in the middle. I would say shes the most powerful living earthbender

Meh, she did a simple move that knocked them all over(that weren't paying attention to her) and writers made it so they didn't retaliate. Then she complained her back hurt. Her training match with Korra was more impressive.

I'm not talking about whether she is the best earth bender in the world, I'm talking about the fact that she let King Bumi outshine her as far as staying strong well into old age, and being able to kick young kids asses. It seems so out of character for her to stay on the sidelines and uninvolved.

Yes but you don't think the whole toph quote "...Sometimes you just gotta leave it to the kids!" made sense? It was precious

For Katara maybe, not for Toph.

She kind of changed between LAB and Korra.

Let's break some rules to Let's enforce some laws.

Spoilers:

Spoiler
Started watching again, really into it now and am binging. Gotta say the one thing I can't get over is all the teen drama, I mean ffs why does Korra have to have romantic issues with everyone on team avatar. Most of it was pretty corny and hard to watch. On a similar note it really irked me how Korra seemed to be represented just so weakly, it got real boring to watch her cry for the 30th time and at some point it had no effect. I remember that in The Last Airbender it really meant something when you could see Aang tearing up, it didn't happen all that often and it would never be for something dumb or ridiculous like what seems to happen with Korra in every episode.

I also wish that there was more emphasis on exploration like there was in AtLA, sure after they get out of Republic City they start traveling more, but in 1-2 episodes they go all the way across the world, with stops in between on more than one occasion. Nowhere near the exciting effect that The Last Airbender had, where they spent almost a whole season traveling and seeing the world, it felt much more real that way.

Can't say I like how modernized the world is either, but thats just not my taste when it comes to anime.

However there are a few things I really did enjoy, for one the ****in villains, my god they are awesome. I can honestly say Legend of Korra trumps AtLA in this way, because I really can't recall anyone in AtLA that was so horrific or intimidating that made me think "wow Aang, you do not wanna **** with them".And to be honest there has been no major villain in this show that I cannot at some point feel bad for or relate to while still being intimidated by, especially Zaheer, he's just all around great in everything he did.

I can also say I really was happy to see the return of some characters, specially Iroh and Toph, every scene with them was just fantastic and a huge shot of nostalgia.

A lot of this is comparisons to The Last Airbender, which is just based off of memories from when I last watched it though
