Id really rather not compete. Sorry, some are different than others...so why not both?

And of course someone gets offended for no reason at all, brings up the personal life of someone else, and generally just tries to shift the entire topic in a negative direction… all in response to a non-confrontational post?

Never change, Graalians!

Where did I being up your personal life?
And it was quite obvious that you were referring to me

Pretty sure that's called discussion CM. I think a lot of people on these forums need to look that up.

I know what discussion is, that's what I'm doing. I was merely responding to this:

I personally don't understand how someone can play an online game if they aren't motivated by competing or playing against other people

implying that this way is the only way :/

Everyone plays differently. Thallen likes competing for candy. I don't. Not just one way is the correct way to play. You don't have to like competing in order to play an online game.

Hopefully that clears things up.

Ok, I haven't played during the last couple Graaloweens so I'm unfamiliar with this trick or treat candy thing. But I will say this, there are 3500 people on the server during peak hours. Notice how hide and seek is less fun than ever, lately? Because you have absolutely no chance of winning unless you're standing very close to where the admin is hiding. It wasn't quite as bad when there were only 1000 players during peak hours. The same goes for any event that involves things spawning on the map server-side. The Graal Classic population has increased significantly over the past couple of years, but the map has not, and the events that involve things spawning on the map have not scaled with the playerbase. This has caused events that involve finding things on the map (whether it be hide and seek, buried treasure, or an event involving random spawns) much less enjoyable than they used to be.

"Graaloween" sucked last time, and will continue to get worse.

In all seriousness though, all you have done since you have joined these forums is complain. I actually think that the majority of things you post on here are put downs, negative remarks and things that are highly irrelevant.

yurhomi 09-10-2014 08:15 PM

I like being competitive but when there are so many people crowding the server and most importantly the ghosts, it gets out of hand to the point where I have to log off and collect candies at night. The only thing I could suggest is to increase the spawn rate, but then again that would just add more lag in addition to 3k+ players. Dunno what else to suggest.

Comyt 09-11-2014 02:58 PM

graal halloween focuses primarily on the collecting, i think it should feel more like halloween with more decorations and a darker world for the night, not sure how laggy this would be though. maybe dress up all the npcs and baddies in costumes or something? make the burger refuge more like a haunted house? or make an actual haunted house?

Narcosis 09-13-2014 12:05 AM

You know what I'd really like to see? Trickery. To add on to my previous ideas (of various "trick" effects that could be applied upon saying "trick or treat" to a specific NPC), I would like to see Halloween trickery in sorts of forms throughout the days leading up to Halloween.

I'm talking about things like baddies in Graal City, a temporary new loot item that's some kind of hand that pulls you underwater and warps you to some kind of underground pool of water, having bugs occasionally "break free" from your net and turn into some kind of zombies that attack you. "Fake" gralats that are actually baddies that will attack you upon being uncovered, evil versions of known NPCs taking the place of the real NPCs, that infamous "big hand" enemy from Zelda occasionally coming down to pick you up in the underground railroad area and warping you to the nearest exit. How about shield codes being totally randomized one day? Where you put in a shield code and end up with a completely random one. The same can be done with swords. And maybe your head/hat/body randomly change every 30 minutes or so? (And you'd have no control over any of it). Everyone would look crazy and have no idea what's going on.

These are the types of things I would LOVE to see. Just screwing with the players in honour of the occasion. I want the devs and the admins and everyone to just unleash their fury. Just one week of total chaos. Man, that would be fun.

IK WHAT TO Do! (Add a thing you've already done and pretend its a massive update you've worked ages on) ^But seriously how about that just add something already done and work on the stuff that for YEARS you haven't worked on:

Add another trivia for another mount :0 (like the witch)

ngin 09-14-2014 01:16 PM

How about a flying vacuum (reference to the movie Hocus Pocus) to go with Sicx's idea of a trivia mount?

Livid 09-14-2014 01:34 PM

If were talking mounts, I've always wanted to ride an transparent ghost horse. Theres also the option of a big black cat with a witch hat or a pumpkin man to ride.
The pumpkin man would be pretty unique though to be honest, that is if you make it so the mount is holding you with the pumpkin man's vines as a way to ride it.

Althought I think that idea would be smooth, people would get candy in a boring way. Both would be neat but they'd have to implement a way for them to spawn fairly like a slower spawn rate for the lazy players and a higher for the ones fighting for the sugar.

That reminds me of the old quest in deadwood with the ghosts, and how you got hats at the end. How about something like that in the woods for halloween, and I mean make a new forest entirely for that.
