Not sure how I feel about this game. I kind of want it but I'm not really excited about it. Don't really want to pay 60$ for it but none of my friends that downloaded it will license transfer it. x.x

FPS Multiplay games have always been super repetitive, doesn't mean it isn't fun. The AI is repetitive, but for the most part is enjoyable. Boss battles are ****ing stupid though because of how it's more about "hope I don't run out of ammo" than "hope I can beat this guy".

I disagree, I have played FPS that keeps throwing new things at me. Especially games like bf4, I find it not repetitive at all because you can take on so many roles in the battle and use so many different tactics.

Destinys beta had awful multiplayer in my opinion, it made me feel like I was playing a really boring version of Cod+ two halo vehicles included.

The story was ****ty. Peter's voice acting was bad, made me wish they still had cortana to at least add a bit more emotion into the role.

They are adding/updating new stuff already which is surprising and makes me hopeful they will keep expanding on and improving the game. Its a good game overall, I just wasn't invested in the story as much as I was invested in getting the loot

I think Bungie intended for us to create our own stories.

This is a RPG.

I do agree though, the main campaign is half-baked.

Do you guys think the combat both multiplayer and vs AI is repetitive?

You're probably gonna run into something new every time you play a strike or multiplayer match.

Here's a list of future events.

If you liked Battlefield multiplayer, you'll like the Combined Arms game mode.

My favorite thing about the game so far is the Crucible. I didn't really pay attention to the story too much. The Ghost's voice acting was a little shaky at times. Like at the beginning when he said something like, "Fallen? All the way here at the surface?" it sounded weird. The game is good, but they definitely did not outdo Halo. Halo had it all. The more I play this game, the more I do see some Borderlands relations in it.

Trying to decide if I should get this.

I mean, I am a huge Halo fan so I probably will end up getting it anyway.

I get disconnected every now and then with the code 'beaver' so that's really annoying. The story was really boring finished it on day 1 although the gameplay was fun. Strikes take too long and it sucks when someone decides to leave mid-game. That being said I prefer pvp, have any of you guys chosen a faction yet? As a bladedancer hunter i can't decide between dead orbit or new monarchy.

So what the hell is this? Is it a FPS like Halo, or an MMO with FPS aspects?

Trying to figure it out too. So far I hear quite a lot of people talking about it so looks like I'm gonna do some video look-ups.

Smoke 09-13-2014 06:16 PM

Backwards. A FPS with MMO aspects.

They like to call it a "shared world shooter".

Is it PvP or what? I mean, I'm not a big MMO fan so I kind of want to know what side of the scale this balances on. Is it grindy like an MMO? Boring quests? Very heavy on the RPG?

I suppose I can look up some gameplay or something...

The game requires full internet connection to play.

The PVP is a game mode like all competitive FPS games.

Story missions can also be co-op if you assemble a firetream.

Strike Missions are matchmade co-op.

The planets in which you travel are the shared worlds. I wouldn't even consider calling it an MMO, it has elements of an MMORPG but its not. The max amount of people in your world is up to like 16.

You cannot communicate with these people unless you invite them to a fire team which is annoying, but I can see the benefits.

The max amount of people you can have with you in a party of your own is 6, this is for 2 of the 5 PvP modes and for raids which release Tuesday and have a level suggest of 28(6?)

Otherwise the max amount of people you can have in your party is 3.

The way Bungie described their game is perfect. Its a shared world FPS. You run into ransoms along your way across the planets. You can choose to ignore them entirely, but sometimes missions bring you together such as public events or strikes (if you don't have 2 other friends on). When those things are done you go your ways and most likely never see that person again.

The game is Grindy if you want it to be. You can grind strikes for legendary armor and weapons, however you can also earn those in PvP which isn't as Grindy, but more random. Strikes got boring after doing them all twice. It becomes a more "hope I don't run out of ammo" rather than "hope I can beat this guy" you just spray till your clip is empty. Run and get ammo. Repeat. Only fun if you have f,riends with you to talk to. In fact the game is ONLY fun with friends. Playing this solo would suck imo

In any case, this is my guy. I'm interested to see y'alls. I have one piece of legendary armor (purple) and the rest rares (blue)
