HP Ice is king on Jolteon. BoltBeam coverage is almost mandatory, willing to bet more than 90% of Special Electric attackers types run HP Ice or Ice Beam. Even my physically-invested Thundurus runs HP Ice. BoltBeam lets you hit a huge amount of Pokemon for at least neutral.

Dang. Looks like I'll have to trade for one since I have no idea how to make one myself through breeding.

EDIT: That actually wasn't too difficult to trade for one. He's perfect, but I don't know whether to give him Life Orb, Choice Specs, or something else. His current moveset is Thunder Bolt/Volt Switch/HP Ice/Shadow Ball. I've never heard of BoltBeam though. I don't think I can get that move on him.

BoltBeam just refers to Electric/Ice move combo, usually Thunder(bolt) and Ice (Beam). Very few special attackers that get STAB on one usually don't get the other, so Hidden Power usually replaces it.

Ahhh, I get it now. Thanks! I'm loving him so far. I still hate Mega Mawile though after all this time. Well, in 3vs3 that is. Did Smogon ban Mega Mawile? I was the one who screwed up though, but I'm just wondering.

This game looks so good, and I really want it to be honest. It'd be the only reason I get a 3DS. I've never really been so compelled to get a pokemon game, but this makes me very tempted to buy it.

Yeah, for the longest time I stopped playing my 3DS until that Pokemon X/Y deal showed up. Now I have 466 hours invested into this game. I like the 3D aspect much more than pixels.

Nope, Mega-Mawile isn't banned but it's really strong. A speedy will-o-wisp on non-substitute sets destroys it, it's slow and relies on Sucker Punch for priority which you can exploit easily.

Wow, 466 hours. That definitely sounds like something I'd do with the game. Now you're just making me more eager to get it. I might eventually get it when I have money to flail.

Welp, if you can't beat em' then join em'! I bred, EV trained, and leveled up my Mawile to Lv. 100 today. Adamant Nature, 252 HP/252 ATK/6 SP. DEF, Intimidate ability with the moveset Sucker Punch/Iron Head/Stone Edge/Play Rough.

You should. Or you could wait until Omega Ruby/Alpha Saphire come out. That might be good.

Enjoy, that Mawile set is absolutely killer. Replace Stone Edge for Swords Dance imo, increases your Attack to 1266 after /one/ SD. Absolutely ridiculous and decimates everything.

Looking back on the new Fairy type, it still doesn't make sense to me. It mainly ended up screwing around with overall balance and such by introducing a new factor to type matchups. I know it was meant to be a nerf to dragon types, but personally I feel such a thing was unnecessary. If a pokemon, such as a dragon type, seems too powerful, it gets a higher tier in the metagame. I mean, they do acknowledge the metagame... Right?

What they should be doing is finding ways to buff poison types. So weak, so little variety... I mean, they aren't reliable in inflicting poison confusion ect. Because of abilities that prevent them. And steel type. I don't like my centipede/snake/might-as-well-not-be-considered-poison-type being helpless against a giant friggin steel serpent.

They did, by adding fairy types.

True, I might do that and just get it for Christmas or something. Too lazy to get it now.

I shall. Now I just need my old buddy Tyranitar back. I traded him when I was newer to breeding because his stats weren't the ones I was aiming for.

EDIT: I'm not missing out because I don't have fire fang right? I probably should have had that as an egg move before I did this just in case. If not, I'll stick with Iron Head.

I know, but steel still completely trumps it. They also need to add more poison moves... Anyway, how does one deal with water types with a Nidoking? No seriously, how? I like Nidoking but Surf is the bane of it's existence.
