Indeed.

I am also interested in 'Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei', another great Light Novel. Although, I don't actually think it'll make a good anime, because it has some major information dumps that just doesn't seem like it'll work in the animated medium.

The 2 aren't similar!

Watamote is awesome, but in a COMPLETELY different way! I can't watch too much of it without breaks because of how painful it is.

What're you talking about?

Since when did I say they were similar?

They are in fact pretty alike on certain aspects.

The only problem is that there is a ton of characters, but more of half of them don't get a character development. It's very good otherwise.

Main female character in Guilty Crown is voiced by the same person who voiced Shiina Mashiro, just so you know.

Finished Accel World yesterday, and My Mental Choices today. What should I watch next? I'm into comedy/action/romance.

Talon 02-21-2014 06:07 AM

Maybe Infinite Stratos.

Date A Live's got all of that if not weak on action, but it isn't the highest quality in terms of plot/character development, but the setting and characters are fun as a whole.

I'll take a look at both, thanks :]

Blah64 02-21-2014 06:23 AM

They are both harem animes.

'Infinite Stratos' is straight up textbook harem genre anime, and it doesn't try to hide that fact. It wears that distinction proudly. It is great if you just wanna see silly archetypal harem antics, awful if you find that sorta thing as strange/boring. Ended up getting a season 2 as a result.

'Date A Live' just seemed like a worse version of 'The World God Only Knows'

Mejico Josh 02-21-2014 10:04 AM

Currently Watching the 2nd season of Oreimo. I forced myself to go to sleep early last night, even though I wanted to finish it. So now I need to wait until I get home to finish it :(

Really enjoying it so far, though I honestly don't think its for everyone. If you aren't into Otaku stuff, and primarily watch anime for fighting/action, you probably wont like it.

But if you're interested by Otaku culture, or are looking for a funny show, you may like it. It can be extremely funny at times, while simultaneously having a great plot. I personally will probably recommend it to a few friends.

I'll just say this though: its really weird.

BAH I HATE THE ENDING TOO WTF SO WEIRD

Spoiler

It almost supports the theme that eroge turns people into freaks. While it technically did mend their broken relationship, it almost caused them to try to act on what they saw, if it wasn't for Manami talking sense into them. The whole "don't mix 2d with 3d" arguement seemed to be completely debunked based on the events.

Ending left me pretty upset IMO. Oh well, its just an anime :P

After noticing there was some discussion in this here thread, I decided to bump it up on my "To Watch" list.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou (Sakura-sō no Petto na Kanojo) is a series that definitely stood out from the others. This is slice of life done extremely right and then some.

When I started the series a few days ago, I didn't expect it to bring the feels this hard.
Spoiler
When Misaki was giving that speech during episode Ep. 23 and then everyone backing them up, some tears were shed. Seeing how they each came to Sakura Hall for one reason or another, then watching them fail again and again at their dreams and hopes, as they came together to get through it. Just so many feels in such a short amount of time.

If this series doesn't end up with a second season, then the genre will be losing out on a great series.

The show isn't really this season, but Golden Time really caught my attention, especially since it's from the guy who did Toradora. Kill la Kill is also a good series. If you liked Gurren Lagann you'll like this series too.

As for this season, I have to agree. Only Engaged to the Unidentified has really caught my attention. Season 2 of Sitokai Yakuindomo and Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions makes up for it though.

I got around to it.
I like it.
2 1/2 episodes in.
There's a lot of characters, but I think that's the point.
Characters, with a bad, or even worse past coming together for one common goal.

Well the original made by studio bones was done when the manga was still on going so midway through they just made the story up. While FMAB again made by studio bones kept to the manga. Plus FMAB has brilliant yet simple animation, a complex story that by the end has no loose ends, brillant soundtrack (that 4th opening is awesome) and with such a wide set of characters that are all awesome in their own way oh and an awesome dub

FMA went off and did it's own thing near the end while FMAB stayed closer to the manga.

Talon 02-23-2014 06:40 PM

Finished the first half of Guilty Crown...

Spoiler
1-13: Not sure how I feel about the quality of the series as a whole yet. There isn't really an established centralized plot that's the focus of the episodes, just seems like the episodes are Funeral Parlor missions (or just Shu missions) that vaguely relate to the Apocalypse Virus. Going to be comparing this a lot to Code Geass because they're very similar, and I felt Code Geass had a stronger main plotline with each character having their own backstory and personal agenda, which I don't feel is happening in GC as strongly. '3D' character development also seems forced at the moment aside from Shu, Ayase and /maybe/ Yahiro, especially on Inori (the whole 'is this love?' deal like five episodes after she told him to stay away) and Daryl's (notorious for brutality and barbaric killing having fun with Tsugumi at a school festival) part. GC pulled a lot of concepts from CG as well, such as the whole 'man at Heaven's gate', the Endlaves, regular boy inheriting the power of a king (interestingly enough, Geass and the Void Genome are both referred to as the King's Power), protags joining a terrorist faction, etc. GC does do a really good job at creating a hatable antagonist with good development which I felt was lacking in CG, as well as decent relationships between the MC and side characters, especially with Yahiro and Inori, even though they still feel pretty similar. The second half looks like it can be very promising though, looking forward to it.
