As opposed to gameplay material, is what I think he meant.

Two of the active threads are started by him, one is irrelevant.

We just need stuff other than clothing updates. Quests, jobs, games, etc. I honestly think I'd rather we have more jobs than quests since quests only last a short amount of time and jobs can be done over and over. Archery is a fun game, but I think we need games involving more players. I know we have events, but I always have mine off because I didn't like how they were set up. I like iEra's event system where you can click yes or no to join and you'd get warped. I don't know how iClassics is set up currently now though. What I'm saying is just more things to do that will last a longer duration of time.

I miss glitching out of the map too lol. Although it looks unprofessional if the game is full of glitches. The game needs more updates that actually make it more entertaining. There have been hardly any updates that add fun content to it at all lately.

Wait for Delteria...

I don't even want to get into why that is a big no for me.

Rufus 10-20-2012 09:33 PM

The reason I am replying in the way that I am is because I don't think that players know what they want from the server. Jobs are only there for making more money, and money is only useful for things like clothing updates. The same logic could be applied to a trading system and that is one of the most requested features. This isn't gameplay.

I've noticed that since I became a staff member I've been involved in doing updates under themes such as holidays. This isn't gameplay either. However, the majority of the playerbase expects this type of time-sensitive content to be produced. You see it in-game, you see it on the forums, and it truly goes against what I want to see as a player of the game. If nothing was released for Halloween, Christmas or those obscure 'holidays' that we're told to celebrate there would be floods of tears about that too. You can't win.

It's obvious that the staff are distracted by **** that doesn't last very long and it has been this way since the start. When I didn't have to pander to the playerbase I was able to sell my ideas to others and content was produced. Nobody has attempted to do the same. Perhaps it's laziness (I mean, it is easier to whine) or perhaps the playerbase really doesn't know what it wants. Either way, it's always vague and not helpful to anyone.

The moral of the story here is, if you feel like you truly know what you want from your server, start expressing yourselves with a bit more depth and actually sell your ideas.

The question is where. I don't know if staff look at these forums Future Improvements section, iClassic Server feedback on RC, [email protected], etc. the most or where to officially suggest ideas.

Rezon 10-20-2012 09:42 PM

One thing to add as well, this game is a business. By still playing this game, it shows that you're still supporting it.

If this game is really that bad and boring, just get up and leave!

Staff are most likely always looking at ideas submitted by players, just because they don't post on a topic or implement it doesn't mean it hasn't been looked at. (I hope so!)

Only higher support staff have access to that e-mail address and 'Feedback' really depends on who is online at the time and whether they are reading it. Most ideas that were posted on this forum have been explored. At least, quite a lot of them have. I'd say this is your best bet, and I'm not just trying to advocate the use of my own forum lmao.

Saying, "Oh, I have a great idea! What if we have quests, and when you beat the quest you get a new item!!" is not an idea. Not to mention simply suggesting more quests and content is not that helpful either, chances are the staff that care are trying to get actual content done... but real content, especially quests, are very time-consuming to get done; and for what? You can put months into getting a nice quest done but decent players can complete them AT THE LONGEST in a day, and bad players will just have other players or tutorials walk them through it. Months of hard work useful for an entire day. MoD was released and literally a couple of days later people were whining for more content.

Then you have the problem with what Rufus said, where players want content while they wait for more content. There's always some holiday going on, and players always expect **** done for every holiday or time of year, so you have to put off time from actual content to keep players happy with trivial stuff like that.

TL : DR? It's harder than it sounds. While it's pretty easy to come up with vague ideas, the actual workload involved is way more than any of those people can comprehend.

So basically what I'm getting from this is that if people want gameplay improvements that last a paid development team is pretty much required (which graal obviously is not going to have)

No, we are worried about iClassic. Not Delteria, it's honestly grown tiring trying to have iClassic do something productive only to have the same few people come along and say, "No, don't worry Delteria/Stroseria has you covered." It is insanely annoying.

Rufus I would be very happy to talk to you privately about ideas.. I got a BUNCH.. I understand your pain too... You put a lot out there and people just don't give a **** about it.. You all work on your own time and I am very grateful for it. It takes a lot of work to just put in a house! I know that personally.. So Rufus message me and I'll give you my email. I really want to contribute and talk about this further.. Thanks for your work.
