Twilight Princess wasn't a bad game, I don't get why people bitch and moan about it. People have put OoT on a pedestal that can never be surpassed, yet they expect Nintendo to pull some miracle and exceed their super-inflated expectations of a Zelda game that can NEVER be met. The fact that people whined they wanted a game like OoT, and then whined that Twilight Princess was TOO similar to OoT, is one of the more laughable complaints.

Twilight Princess was flawed, and it had a few of them... but I still enjoyed it, and I enjoyed it enough to revisit it a couple of times. I just wish they'd stop being so forceful with their intended route/story/gameplay. The hour-long intro is hard to tolerate a second, or third time around. That makes it hard for people to revisit it; which is a big no-no with a Zelda game. Then they just hand-feed the player EVERYTHING. I liked OoT because after you get out of the forest they shove you into a huge world and say "ya... go anywhere." Sure, many places couldn't be gotten to, but many places COULD. And once you get into the Adult timeline you could go in any damn direction you wanted. That's the biggest problem with Zelda games anymore... no freedom. Sidequests were another problem, they were severely lacking. Also the twilight world crap with collecting the lights were tedious. All in all a fun, but flawed game. I can see why people would like it more than OoT(the dungeons were much larger, imposing. Many of the boss battles were just... really fun. The world was nicely imagined... so on), though.

I agree. Skyward Sword was too constrained. I hope that in the next console zelda they create a Hyrule that can be explored instead of what they did with SS.

I really want a sort of Skyrim styled over world where it is possible to trail-blaze or just go off the paths.

I think there needs to be a balance. I get so interested in worlds of games like Skyrim that I lose interest. OoT had a nice balance, but I'd like it to be a LITTLE more to explore. There needs to be a balance between letting the players explore, and providing the player with obstacles that create that sense that they're MISSING out on MORE if they don't progress in the story. They WANT to see what's behind that big pile of rocks, or across that gap... but they can't... YET. Then they get excited when they finally can and immediately go back.

In the Elder Scroll games there are no obstacles... I can explore everything. Which is cool... but I eventually just get bored because nothing draws my interest back.

Just curious but... why?

I could go on and on, but I only have so much time.

1). Twilight Princess had one of the best dungeon designs of the series, and not to mention one of the best soundtracks.

2). The story, in my opinion, was remarkable. Unlike WW and OoT, which both released the backstory early in the game, TP's story progressed throughout the game, keeping it fresh and interesting.

3). The world was absolutely vast, with multiple areas to explore, it was able to keep me playing the game even after I beat it. The world under twilight was pretty cool too, shame it only lasted for the first 3 dungeons =(

4). Midna, Navi can f*** off

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask cannot be compared to each other. They were too different to even try. Twilight Princess was a pretty cool game, and I can't really say anything about it because I have never beaten it. Personally, one of my most favorite Zelda titles, besides Oot, is Minish Cap. It has one of the best Zelda over worlds to ever have been made.

Minish Cap was amazing.

Midna's Lament is great, I still prefer quite a few older sound tracks though...

(There are others but I can't find a link, bad pun....)
I just can't see myself enjoying many songs from TP though, they don't seem the same, too non zeldalike.

As for the story it seems like a rip from OoT and is pretty predictable. It is more of the predictable part than it feeling like OoT. I think my least favorite thing is that it felt as though it was supposed to be a really dark game, which it wasn't. However I do really like the art/graphics for it. Especially some fan art I have seen. And I don't really see the appeal with Midna (Cute face?), to me she she just seemed bitchy and self centered till near the end.

OoT was a nice game, but I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it more than MM and Twilight Princess. I just found Twilight Princess' experience to be more engaging overall.

Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and even Skyward Sword were all good games, but none of them compare to a Link to the Past or Link's awakening.
