and @Thallen: Theres no such thing as saint blocking, you can walk straight through saints as if they were in a non-pk zone.

edit: o ya forgot, blocking doors will lower AP, I believe.

If you have a saint block

Saints can't block. You walk right through them.

EDIT: You beat me to it >.<

Lol how about it automatically drops to 99 when you enter a tower area.

Do you know how long it takes to get from 20 ap (what most active PKers hover at) to 100? A guild would only be able to do this once every two weeks or so

Nope, if you idle in the church, you can get ap 20->100 really fast.

There was some saint girl at Sardon's last night trying to block us from the doorway leading down from the flag room, so that's either incorrect or it only works in the indoor tower levels (since Sardon's flag room is on the overworld).

I think it'd be best to minimize the "automatic" losing AP as much as possible. It's a bit annoying to have 100 ap and suddenly not realize why it disappeared. Yes, it should be obvious that Saint's shouldn't be doing something PK-oriented such as towers, but I think that's excessive. I'd say instead Saint's should be able to enter towers at all.

However I'm not very invested in the combat-side of iClassic so my voice doesn't really count for much I think.

Saint's aren't supposed to block. However there may be weird instances where players aren't properly synced and therefor not updated on whether or not a player should be blocking. A new function may be pitched to Stefan soon that may remedy this, if he adds it.

In my opinion I feel players blocking should be done away with all together. I don't see the benefit of players colliding with other players, especially when it introduces so many problems that need to be compensated for. However that's a very large change to core gameplay and I don't know how that would be received.

I'm all for removing collisions in forts. Blocking makes them very easy and too often do people cry that you're abusing some sort of exploit or "lag blocking" when you're just blinking. Would solve two problems for me.

If they had to get a whole guild to saint, and thats their only way to take, they wont have it for long. Its not likey that a whole guild will have 100 ap, so it will only be 4-6 if that. They sit there and wait for an opportunity, but you would easily be able to take back.

Myst 03-21-2013 06:05 AM

i don't play classic much but this sounds like a tactic, stop whining because your loosing your bases like this.

btw what would a saint be casualty doing at a tower? sitting there?

I meant collision completely in any PK zones. I personally think it adds more hassle than anything, and doesn't really add to the experience. I'd say maybe have collision enabled in spars, but otherwise I just don't see the point.

Yes, that'd be fine as well. It's like when someone hosts an event and puts the warper in the CTF house, it's nothing but chaos and lag in the doorway and this would probably make many things run a lot smoother.

When you hit the flag your AP drops

100 AP should probably be prevented at towers, especially ones that are insanely easy to defend and block-dependent like Sardon's and DW. If you have a saint block the flag room door at Sardon's, it's ridiculous. Hardly "strategy," a monkey could come up with that idea.

If you have 100ap I'm pretty sure you don't block people.

Craftz 03-21-2013 09:29 PM

I personally like blocking in towers. Blocking doors and such should be removed, but i dont like the idea of being able to walk through people by the flag. A big part of towering and trying to take the tower is getting a spot on the flag. Its fun fighting over places on the flag, and of everybody can stand in one spot and hit the flag, its pointless. Towers would be harder to take, since the defenders can stand all in one spot, rather than there only being enough room for 5-6 people on the flag.
