Put yourselves in the officer's position. An eighty-pound Rottweiler - an incredibly vicious dog - lunges aggressively at you and you have a weapon in your hands. What are you going to do, let the Rottweiler gnash at you? It was in self-defense and it was justified. I'm sure he would have used a more passive method like a tranq dart given the opportunity, but the thing is, he wasn't given the opportunity.

"Shot the dog repeatedly"
One bullet would do fine, just for reaction too. But, I'd rather take a bite from a dog, then shoot it, honestly he did wrong, this wasn't justified business.

Shooting is not the way to go, just corrupted, dumbass police officers. I think taking a bite from a dog is far better then shooting it. Grow a pair of balls.

What is the way to go in that situation, then? Willingly let the fierce, potentially deadly Rottweiler attack you? You would be in a world of pain, if not dead. They do have the capacity to kill human beings, and no boundaries that tell them not to.

If you watch the video, the dog jumps up to bite, nothing as aggressive as you claim it to be. And yes, sorry, but, I'd rather be bitten by a dog, than shoot it to death, repeatedly.

Myst 07-03-2013 09:30 AM

one or two shots would of done it and may of not killed the dog, this is just inhumane.

He dodged the dogs bite anyways, the way he shoots the dog for 'reaction purposes' is no excuse at all. He's an officer and they should be immune from outrageous reactions. In my opinion, he should be charged for animal slaughter, and removed from his current job (if not laid off until further notice).

Myst 07-03-2013 09:36 AM

after he dodge the dog it follows him slightly causing him to panic, and if he ran the dog would've bite him for sure.

Crono 07-03-2013 09:39 AM

guy gets arrested people focus on dog

ppl get shot regularly by police, only see a thread about some dog

gg

p.s if an animal was about to attack me, and i had a gun w/ intent to use it, i would shoot the animal too and you all would aswell

The dog is nowhere near scary enough to shoot it out of shock. Not just that, but, people are bitten by dogs all the time, nothing fatal from a dog bite.

Lmao? I would never.
Not a dog in that case.

After the police officer tried to grab the leash the dog lunged but then it looked like it was backing up, the cop panicked and went all trigger happy on the damn dog.

The owner himself is partly to blame for being an idiot.

Your on something right? It wouldn't just take a bite it would keep going until it kills you. It's the owners fault for not winding up the windows. Good riddance to the stupid beast.

One bullet would do fine? He shot the dog the first time and probably thought "his still going till come after me" and shot him a couple more times.

LOL I'm going to stop right now, your probably one of those dumbass animal lovers who puts animals before the welfare of humans.

Yes, anybody can shrug off a bite from a rotweiler.
