The guild everyone really shouldn't have won the idevice GST. I can name 3 sparers I saw on the team, that I've sparred in the past, and are well-known for having a bad connection. 7mood (little warps) Not hard to adapt, Sebastian (delays) Awfully Unfair, ABOOD (delays and speeds up.) basically duck in cover and hope his after image doesnt come running at you with the force of a thousand mcdonalds routers. I've sparred all of them before 1v1 in the battle arena. You're gonna tell me, they won legitimately without lag? I some how really really doubt that, as for US winning, i can't complain, saw it coming, good job and all that, but i did hear something about having an AFK memeber, that got US a redo, even so, i can't say that was totally unfair, since it's two out of three to win one match.
I've also herd a few laggy guilds got redos for having bad connections, not the smartest move. Scaal in my opinion was not fit to help host GST, he did a pretty bad job from what I've herd. I was in the mixed torny, he didn't seem like a bad host except for the fact he refused to kick out a lagger, i believe his name was G° (Sensen); had an awful delay, we still won, but the fact is Scaal clearly can't tell if a player is lagging in other forms unless the accused player is clearly warping, which lag comes in various forms, not just warping, delaying, rapidly slowing down, or speeding up are also other forms of lagging, or just having a shotty connection. Over all i was shocked at how poor the quality of this Guild Spar tournament was. but at-least I got whistle, so now I can pretend like iClassic is classic, and whistle at players. When I want to converse with them. c: |

Something you guys have to take into consideration about delayers on Graal: if you live in North America and you delay, you're either using satellite internet or using your bandwidth irresponsibly (uploading like crazy).
If you live in some parts of Europe, Asia, the Middle East, or anywhere far away from the server (which is in the US), then the delay will come naturally. People like Yui do not delay because she has a garbage connection or a cheap router. She delays because that's how long it takes for a response from the server to travel from the US to her location in Japan. Yui could be paying for the best internet service in her city and it wouldn't matter. The distance is the problem. I know Sarah and Sebastian are in France and I'm pretty sure ABOOD and 7mood are located in some barren desert in a country that I can't pronounce. It's annoying as hell that they delay, but the reality is that it's completely out of their control and they'd feel completely cheated out if they were unable to enter the GST just because of where they live. Does that give them an excuse to lazily hop on a spotty 3G connection to milk their lag and warp around? Nope, but some form of delay is practically unavoidable when it comes to these people. Quote:

As a member of the team that had to verse "mi5e" in the first round, I will say that we lost fair and square. As for the whole disqualification of the team, we didn't even say anything, we took the loss and said we would do better next time. However, I don't think it was right that we were even paired up with mi5e in the first round. Any non-******ed person can see that their ratio is over 1,000 above ours, and all of their players have much better spar records.
Our iDevice team had to verse MiD. Literally, I was watching and Itox, a member of MiD was frozen and could not get hit. @EP, when it comes down to that much lag, it isn't a fair fight. US was going to win, we all saw that coming. Everybody should not have won, I watched the match and their lag was horrible. Even if they would have to redo several matches, does that mean that the keep them in the gst and let them win unfairly? Overall, a decent GST... Decent. |

these opinions and views expressed are of my own, or from what I've herd/seen. I can't speak for others, but i myself do not think i should have to adapt my sparring to accommodate for those with awful connections, if it states right on the rules, excessive lag is basically a disqualification, with those being three out of the five players on the team having connections as such. |

Also I'd like to reiterate here that, i was not a part of the idevice GST, i was ON an idevice in the mixed GST. So i wasn't even in that torny, i just know for a fact most of there connections are shotty, also of you look at the list of players, really the only AWFUL one is Sebastian who claims to reside in the US. :| |
I wasn't really keeping up with the Sage vs Everyone matches, but was it actual warping lag or just delay? The two should be seen as separate issues. Delay cannot really be measured by a staff member watching, especially in a 5v5 scenario.

there was a few times that were out in the open, with Sebastian running away to a corner getting hit with a sword, and clearly not taking damage. But i only seen one of the matches, i was a little to busy focused on my team at that time, :|

Honestly this was the worse GST ive ever witnessed. Why was Mother and Sage on the same side of the bracket? How the hell did Squiggles guild get to the semi-finals? If Gabe werent sleeping, PiNoY wouldve kicked the guild "everyone" to shame long before the finals. Was anyone even watching to see if Sarah pulled out her bow and arrows during that last spar?!

its sad that people have to lag to cheat and win the gst and its even more sad that admins wont do anything about it.

All in all. Can we just nerf the idea of a guild spar tourney on iClassic. Way to too many issues, and all we get out of it is a bunch of rant and complaining. Or at least make it so that there are no prizes besides "self worth". |
I remember Winter said sparrers were very nice and not rude to others.
