Yup. Western is like medieval style(kinda what graal kingdoms buildings look like), whereas eastern has a more asian style kind of buildings.

I'm rolling on west because that's what I figured most of my friends would prefer, although I'll probably be building an eastern styled house on the western continent :P

Elves and Nuia's are western continent, Haranhi and Ferran are on the eastern continent. If you're dead set on rolling Ferran or Haranhi you can still join the guild, although you'll need teamspeak to communicate and it'll be a lot harder to help you out early on.

Our guild might do a bit of pirating on the open seas ganking people for their trade packs/fish catches, so you'll enjoy that :D

Also if you get caught stealing too much you might eventually get exiled to pirate island(AKA freedrich) :P

Haven't even gotten close to starting. Even though Nvidia GTX 730 is perfect for both my needs and my budget, said budget is currently $0 at the moment. I am a teenager with no job or even an allowance sooooo I might be getting it around christmas lol.

Your cpu seems a little bit better than the one in my laptop according to various sites, so hopefully you should be able to play Archeage on lowest settings at a playable framerate.

Yup, there's all kinds of upcoming content. There's already a few more zones on Auroria that have been released in Korea.

Already downloaded and tested. It ran pretty bad at minimum settings, plus apparently there is no support for intel graphics, which caused some noticeably graphical bugs almost immediately after starting my character.

O-o I use intel graphics on my laptop and there's no graphical bugs. In the video settings, do you have directx set to 9? Directx11 has a lot of bugs. Also, try setting every single setting manually to the lowest(and unchecking the display shadows button) them restart.

The setting changes don't apply until a full restart of the client, its possible the game could have been running on medium despite you setting it to low.

I did a full restart, I was running minimum graphics. And oddly enough, I'm locked into DX9. I can't use DX11. Which isn't much of a surprise to me because that's the way games usually act for me. They always seem to think I'm running DX8 for some reason, even when I check my directx version in things other than DXDiag it says it's 8. Honestly, I think my PC might be a tad screwed up. If I recall correctly most Dell Optiplex 780 desktops usually come with an actual GPU, not just an integrated chip. All this makes me think someone improperly uninstalled the GPU that this PC came with.

Do you think the game is still playable, or is the lag unbearable? On my laptop it felt choppy, but it was still enjoyable.

players can play and interact cross-continent right? planning on joining the eastern one with FEAR, leader wants to move the guild here and I haven't really dabbled with it at all yet
