Like the tile set never matches. Like if we are a post apocalyptic place... like why are we using good steel? Shouldn't it be scraps?

If it's a super advanced state- why do we use steel to begin with when we have force fields?(kind of some of the reasoning as for why I throw away some of those other theories)
