The show is not supppsed to be a pity party for Hannah and the viewers crying over her because she's such a likeable and amazing character. It's about how her death could have been prevented if something had changed.

Also, considering what these characters did to her, they deserve to hear the harsh truth. They killed her. She's not a saint but that's not what the show is trying to make her look like.

I don't think she should be a saint, if she were some innocent girl who's never done anything wrong that'd just be bad writing. But my point is if you are going to write a show that addresses the issue of suicide, she should be in a position where you can feel sympathy for victims so that you, the viewer, want to help make a change.

It took me 2 attempts at watching it to really get into it. I gave up the first time half-way through episode 2, then re-watched it from the beginning all the way through. I really enjoyed it in the end :)

A lot of the viewers do feel sympathy for her. Obviously it won't work for everyone since obviously this show is targeted towards a certain demographic, but I think 90% of the people who enjoyed the show did feel sympathy for her.

No great movies/serieses to watch for a month and then this series shows up

Really well made

I don't feel sympathy for her at all.

Spoiler
She enabled rape to happen to her 'friend', was the passenger in reckless driving that ended up taking the life of a very respectable kid who had a bright future ahead of him and didn't speak up, this is a very serious crime, the driver and passenger can be convicted of manslaughter. She even blamed a councilor for her suicide when he had no way of helping because she refused to tell him what happened or name the person who did it then acted like it was his fault.

For those unaware of how manslaughter works: the difference between murder and manslaughter is that murder requires an intent to kill, but manslaughter does not, a defendant does not have to intend to kill or injure anyone in order to be guilty of vehicular manslaughter.

To convict someone of vehicular manslaughter you must prove:
the driver operated a motor vehicle in a reckless or grossly negligent manner, and
the driver’s conduct caused a fatality.

Spoiler
Well what was she going to do during the rape? Her friend was unconscious and who knows what may have happened if she tried to stop it, she could've ended up getting raped herself (yes I know it happens eventually, but still). Not to mention she was drunk and scared. It's not like she wanted her friend to get raped, but she just felt helpless. It's easier to say all of the things we would do in that situation compared to what we would actually do if we were in that situation.

The car thing wasn't her fault, she wasn't driving but even so she tried to call the police before an accident did happen. The driver didn't want to admit to it and left her there which isn't Hannah's fault at all because she was left there literally for trying to help. Then she walks to a liquor store and tries to call the police.

Really good ending. One of the few series that ends unexplained and can be enterpreted by the viewer. I can't see a season 2 coming but that ending was great

Isn't that the base of the show? No, one spoke out and this happen to everyone. No, one did anything and even to this day no speaks out about bullying and other actions that can be crimes. She wanted to call the cops in the car wreck but the girl drove off and she went to the store to call 911. But her and that other girl didnt speak out. Sadly I did like that guy who died. He was helping Clay be a regular teen. Sadly he did die and that death could of been avoided but it wasnt because of a careless teen who was scared to get in trouble with her parents.
But yeah the girl herself wasnt a saint but still no one should be treated like trash just like everyone else in the show. Camera kid was treated like was shock they didnt show him shooting up the school at the end. They all had big ass egos that they had to prove

Phantom 04-28-2017 11:07 PM

There are a lot of openings for a second season; however certain parts in the show are super cringe. Over all....it is a good freaking show and I was hooked from tape 1 ;)

G Fatal 04-29-2017 04:23 PM

Really good, @people saying they don't have sympathy for her etc etc.. I've heard that the book of this programme she actually went through alot worse and this programme more is showing the side of how suicide affects everyone else, that the problems don't just go away after her death, it still affects the others in certain ways and also shows very well in show points where if it was a little bit different if someone did something different or confronted people at that point of time then she still may have been here today.

P.S. I felt like i'm Clay of this world lmao!

If I was gonna kill myself, I'd wanna go quick, not sit there and have to think about it for 10 minutes while I bleed out. Them ol' boys that go out in the woods have the right idea.

so long as it doesn't hurt I think it'd be fun
