This, on the other hand could work if other methods were also pushed.

There are always going to be hat chasers and people who will do anything just to get a hat, loyalty to guilds on Graal is very hard to find and most new players probably don't want to put the effort in.

Aguila is pushing 30 days... how are they not reset.. :(

Besides Aguila having twice as much hours as the #2 already, they are also getting every hat chaser on graal because everyone knows they cant be caught up to. Admins just give them this hat already and reset the scores

This might have been "okay" when guild rewards were first removed; however, we're years into that already. There is no point for a system like this anymore, especially while a far superior one is being worked on.

I pray this may be the only season I see this system in practice.

I wasnt around when they removed the hat system : 1k 5k and mount thing, what really happened ? Why did they removed it ? Too many guilds has reached 1k ?

If I remember correctly at some point in time people would just get to 1k hours and hop guilds, which is what "hat chasing" is all about. The system for 5k 10k and so on was useless because almost no one was trying to get that many hours and instead hopping ship to some new guild they created.

They were also removed in preparation for the NGS. We are a few months away from a full 4 year wait.

That is not the only reason--it was a very abused and manipulated feature. It was also labor intensive as hats had to be manually added to the players by a senior graphics team member.

It's been a few days since the announcement. The hype around the hat is settling down. Towers are slightly more active but most people I know aren't interested in competing until either the hat is good or until next season. There's not much enthusiasm in the people who want to compete, either. It's just "well if it's there i may as well..."

To the person that made the hat, your work is usually very good. A lot of people don't understand what makes a good hat for players like us. It's hard for me to put into words. I suggest you check out Forever Phantom's house with me at some point. I can show you which hats are considered great and why.

I'd much rather have NGS than have a reward system that should've existed almost 4 years ago. I know it doesn't take any development time to make a social media post and check the leaderboards at the end of the season. The problem is we've been handed a raw steak instead of a full course meal and expected to be okay with it. I'm not the only one who feels this way. I care about this game a lot. It's incredibly disappointing to be handed something I'm scared is going to be considered "good enough." I have no choice but to continue waiting for my full course meal.

It's clear by the silence about giving Aguila a free hat that this won't be reverted. Whoever made the decision about this should ask players who participate in these activities before making a change like this. It's clear they don't play the game at all, so they should at least consult people who do. There's a lot of people who ask me if this is the NGS and why someone decided to add this midway through the season. I've heard more disappointment and belittling of staff than praise for rewards.

Honestly NGS does not seem that Far away anymore like I could see it being finished by the end of this year or next year.

I remember people jokingly saying stuff like “#NGS2020” back in 2016, didn’t think it’d actually take that long at the time though.

+1 to “why are we giving Aguila a free hat?” btw
+1 to letting the top guild submit their own hat as well

Oh shoot, now that you say it you're right LOL

Imagine losing #1 spot by end of season by minutes or hours. And you get nothing from the whole season. (It's just a hat but you know what I mean)

-I hope they change it and reward 3 hats for the top 3 at least.
