I'm not sure how this thread is dead. This is practically the best show on television right now, I would be interested to know if anyone could find another show currently still on-air more critically acclaimed than this... Anyways, if you have seen the last episode, I think its hinting at Mike dying/getting caught. The DEA is after him. Walter wants to do one last job so he can get his precious 'power', and this is the first time Mike is going to make a decision outside of his cool, since Walter is forcing him to do something out of anger.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how this half season will end, I honestly don't think they should have split this final season into 2 though. I can't wait to see how it will all end.

Can someone explain the show to me? I don't have Cable to watch this on and Demonoid is down.

Uh, the dynamic of the show is kind of hard to explain.. I would recommend watching it on Netflix. But its basically about a slacking genious chemist teaching high school chemistry, learning that he has cancer, and watching him seek power, the one thing he has never had in his life, through cooking methlamene.

So... He cooks meth to gain whatever he's never had but always wanted in life. Interesting... Pirate Bay, here we come!

Yeah, like Pimp said, it's basically about an over qualified highschool chemistry teacher who is struggling to support his family. His house is in need of some repairs, his son has cerebral palsy, and he has a baby daughter on the way. On top of that he learns that he has lung cancer and doesnt have the money to pay for his cancer treatment (you learn in last night's episode that he sold his share of a company he started in college for 5000$ and that the company today is worth 2.6billion$ which his friends screwed him out of). He finds out how much money meth can make after seeing something on the news with his DEA agent brother-in-law and soon begins to cook meth with an ex-student of his. They ends up making some of the highest quality meth in the southwest and more money then they know what to do with.

You really should get netflix and watch it. The story is amazingly written and the characters are complex and believable. The show is in its 5th and final season and I can't wait to see how it ends.

[character development spoilers] at this point in the series I'm not really sure if he ever was in the meth business for the money to support his family, I'm thinking he has only really in it from the start for the power and infamy..

Well at first he cooked it to raise money for his family because he wanted to do something for his family before the cancer killed him. He kept trying to make 700 and whatever thousand dollars that he calculated would be enough for his family but now it's definitely not about his family. He has really broke bad and wants to create a drug empire to achieve the same amount of wealth and notoriety that he was screwed out of with gray matter. I actually think it would be pretty interesting if Walt some how screws over gray matter and causes them to go bankrupt before the series is over.

Thats the thing, his grey matter explanation doesn't seem to be enough of a motivation to sacrifice his family, others lives, and do such cruel things to close friends like Jesse. I don't think its ever been about the money or his jealously of grey matter, or his family. He mentions towards the beginning of the series that he has never made a single decision in his life, everyone has always told him what to do. I really think that is what this is all about. Him living by his own terms, and making lasting impression on history -being the GREAT Heisenberg- before he dies from cancer. Not some grudge against a company or trying to help his family.

Yeah I get what you're saying, he's really living up the whole Heisenberg persona.

Also in the preview of the next episode, he tosses the blue meth on the ground to their new buyer, who says "You're Heisenberg?" and Walt replies with a look of pure satisfaction and happiness (Something we haven't seen the entire season): "Damn right I am."
