Where did I say that? You can re invent multiplayer and make it modern without copying other games. My biggest problem is that you grind xp to get new guns. That is something that I absolutely hate and was definitely not needed. Halo's multiplayer is defined by everyone having the same guns, so that it is purley skill based when playing something such as slayer.

You unlock the UNSC weapons at level 2, Covenant at level 5, and Promethean at 22. By level 22 you will have every Primary/Secondary/Grenade and some Armor/Tactical/Support unlocked. It doesn't take long at all, maybe four hours or so into the release I was above a 20.

BR used for close to mid, DMR for mid to long, and the Lightrifle at long range. Halo has always been fast paced, not to degree of CoD and it still isn't to that pace and if you think Battlefield is fast paced then you have no idea what you're talking about.

All the guns are extremely balanced IMO anyways. My cousin muches off my live and plays online with me, and he will have to remain level one. I never told him how to do load outs because it will just reset next time he logs out, so he uses AR all the time and usually comes out with about 10 kills a match. Keep in mind the only halo he has ever played was reach and 3 and that was all within a 3 month span of when he moved here.

I honestly don't see a problem with the gun unlocking. Me personally unlocked the BR first and haven't had to unlock a new gun since. I unlocked Light Rifle recently just to see how it plays out, but I still prefer my ol' BR

It's hardly a grind to get new guns, unless you consider playing a few matches "grinding"

I don't know about you, but it sure doesn't take me two games to earn this much exp. If you do a game of Spartan Ops, you get 4,000-5,999 and online for War Games usually 1,500-2,900.

On another note, I beat the campaign with my friend. It was really fun and the ending wasn't really as bad as people described it. It was sad, but still wasn't terrible. If you guys haven't seen this reward system for Halo 4, you should check it out. You get Microsoft points for being an addict. It's on the official Xbox Live Rewards site. Usually the rewards suck, but these actually aren't too bad if you play a lot.

I'm not too big a fan of the gameplay, it feels too much of a mix between Reach and Black Ops to me. The game just doesn't play out too much like a Halo game, and feels like a completely new game to me. I don't know. Might just be my Halo 2/3-fanboyism coming out in me and refusing to accept a new game.

The campaign was great, though.

I'm sad that they didn't preserve the absolute equality between players in Multiplayer, though.

That was always a big appeal to me.

the campaign was fine but... multiplayer is even worse than halo reach. 343 absolutely ruined it. multiplayer is pretty much a Call of Duty in space now. Instant spawns? Check. Perks? Check. Killstreaks? Check. Automatic headshot aim assist? Check. Has this become the standard for every shooter now? Why would 343 throw out the classic style of halo multiplayer that made the game great in the first place?

the Halo 4 multiplayer is pretty neat in my opinion. I hated the reach campaign and multiplayer. Yes it looks like COD, but that doesn't mean it isn't epic. I'm not that much of a COD fan but I really like what 343 did to the war games. Also I don't think that the classic halo style made the game great, the armor and the fact that you don't have to hold a button to aim did. 343 didn't take that away. I disagree with some of the points you made. Who cares about instant spawning? That doesn't ruin the game in my opinion. Besides that there aren't killstreaks. Its about the points you get, not the streaks. I know that its the same concept but still, this doesn't ruin it in my opinion. Automatic headshot aim assist...? lolwhat. The only thing i dislike are perks. But that doesn't completely ruin the game right? ;o 343 did good by adding everyone sprint because people in reach who had that perk always had alot of advantages and such. I hope team snipers will be added though =[

I actually was upset about it too until I started playing it more. Yes 343 copied Call of Duty with the kill cam, loadouts, and such. I still actually really enjoy the game. I just hope there's a way to disable sprint for custom games because recreating some of the classics would be hard. I'm not really a fan of Spartan Ops in all honesty. It just feels like it doesn't need to be in the game. I prefer Firefight over it. Firefight was ruined in Reach because they took away the challenge and made it boring.

I got Assassin's Creed III Join or Die Edition & Dad bought me Halo 4 on Sunday, I haven't played any campaign yet but Online Multiplayer is EPIC!!!

Isn't the max level for each specialization 10 each, after you hit 50?
So it makes sense until they unlock the rest of the specializations.

Yes, but people who got the limited edition have all the specializations so I have no idea if they can go past 70. I'd be pretty pissed off if they could. Not really fair.

I heard they locked everyone down to just the 2 but I may be wrong. But yeah a series of bad decision making by 343 and MS made my decision not to buy the LE a good one :)

The game isn't bad at all. There are some things I don't like about it, but overall I enjoyed it.

You're entitled to your opinion but "atrociously bad" might be a bit of an overstatement? Sure there are nitpicky things that I don't like in Halo 4 but nothing that breaks the game.

I want it just for the campaign, honestly. I've played so much Halo multiplayer (made 5+ Gold accounts and rushed them to 50 in H2 and H3) and I've just become tired of it.

How is the multiplayer though? I might try it.

It's good. Different from the other games multiplayer, but copied some Call of Duty concepts. They're adding new modes and such every week or so.

IMO Multiplayer isn't that fun unless you are in a party with friends. That goes for really any game, but being able to talk and laugh and have fun makes it better.

I never liked other Halo campaigns. The only one I finished was Halo 3. reach bored me and eventually just used it for multiplayer. I enjoyed Halo 4's simply for the story, the gameplay was meh, but the story made me want to keep playing to see what happens next. Games are turning into movies lol.

I think it's a mix of Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and CoD. One of the fun things about playing multiplayer is having a motivation. I sadly reached rank 70 and can't advance any further. I feel the multiplayer lacks custom games. I always wanted to see a Halo game where they would have games like Sacrifice, Smear the *****, Fatboy, Jenga, etc as a playlist. Halo: Reach had some custom gametypes, but not nearly as good. Halo 4 really has none at all. Just typical playlists like oddball, CTF, slayer, and so on.

I like how they add new game types every week though. It's nice to play something new

Well it's the main driver behind any modern FPS.
People like to be constantly rewarded for playing.

Halo 2/3 wasn't at all progression based. Ranks were much heavier reliant on TrueSkill (Microsoft's version of Elo), and you weren't rewarded for grinding EXP. Most of the rewards (armor) were gained in single player, which I kinda liked. But yeah, almost every new game (even games outside of the FPS genre) is based off of progression in one way or another. I actually cannot think of a game released in the last year that wasn't progression based. Even League of Legends and CS:GO have rewards for progression.

There can be a progression system but when its the driving point for games it becomes an issue.

You're given mostly cosmetic stuff for progression, you unlock every weapon at 22. This is main difference between CoD and Halo 4's system.

Yeah I (I bought the limited edition) can go up to 130. I hope that they add more specializations with the map packs cuz i dont think its gonna take that long to get through all of them. But, the other specializations got some pretty cool stuff. I dont think the armor is that great on a lot of them, (my favorites are Wetwork and Pioneer) but some of the special abilities seem to be pretty helpful.

I did some research and someone had reached level 87. That's some serious bull crap pulled by 343. Allowing the people who paid more money for the limited edition to have two big advantages like that isn't fair. How long are the rest of us supposed to wait?

Those are all the specializations. People who play Halo 4 after November 20th will have to wait for DLC to get them.

343 is sending out e-mails with codes for all the specializations sometime here in the next few days if you played Halo 4 between launch and the 20th.

Also, most of the stuff is purely cosmetic. You unlock a new armor ability but nothing moderately game changing.
