Yea but when i do i like changing it alot, being able to show friends things i made etc, i tested it on classic and it sucked, i stuffed up a gpic and had to wait 30 mins to change it after waiting like 5 mins for it to be accepted

It just seems completely annoying to have to wait for a picture, then wait 30 minutes to change it back, this and talking to friends it the only reason i personally still go on era

I'm not trying to pick on you in particular but your statement seems to be a common theme with many other graalians. The purpose of guild/gang pictures was to have a cool logo for your guild/gang, not for an easy way to show players your creations in a matter of seconds. If you are seriously having an issue with the new rule, why not invest in a free image-sharing app, send things via email, create an online portfolio/acount on places such as deviantart, etc.?

Johnaudi 11-14-2012 08:14 PM

This might be stupid : Players that has uploaded or done something inappropriate would be relieved from creating a gang / updating a gang pic anymore.

Admin approval? I would say yes and no. I don't want inappropriate images floating around era, turning era into a different kind of game, but admins will have to look at both customs and gang pics. That's more work. Not saying this to offend admins but, it feels as if admins are really picky and strict now when it comes to uploading images. The standards of custom uploading are so strict, it feels as if players are wasting too much time for nothing. Should gang pic approval be strict? It may cause some anger in some players.

knuckles 11-14-2012 09:29 PM

if players post inappropriate pictures they will have a inability to have a picture for 3 weeks? also to decrease inappropriate pictures, every time you tell a admin and that person gets in trouble you get a prize? like 1500 graalats or a ec?

Because these days no-one can be bothered sending emails when showing a gang picture is easier, i wasn't just speaking for myself when i said that, that applies to MANY other gangs, just ask the 100s of graphics gang who use their gang as a mean of showing their work, it honestly feels like everyones being punished because of a few assholes who think they're cool for posting pictures of their dicks.

Kiwi 11-14-2012 09:40 PM

Any way to get the statistics of how many guild pictures have been uploaded in the past week?

Infernus Lapse 11-14-2012 09:44 PM

No. Just no. Every single custom i upload gets disproved merely because one of the stupid new staff doesnt like it because of their opinion. Now my gang pictures too? God. Damn.

Shiz 11-14-2012 09:48 PM

Maybe when a player tries to upload a picture to their gang, The server sends it to a Player Relation and they have to approve. (Just like on lots of websites.) This is probably the easiest, most simple way of getting rid of all the sick pictures.

EDIT:I didn't read previous posts, my bad. x.x

Read my comment, honestly. Every single player relations i know besides NCJohn whos seen my upload requests have disproved it because of their opinions.

Were talking about Gang Pictures, not uploads.

flamecrow 11-14-2012 10:07 PM

My two solutions:
1)
-All gang picture uploads remain the same for players (they won't notice a difference)

-EXCEPT on our end, all pictures are logged.
-Staff go through the logged pictures daily..any inappropriate find, will be deleted and the gang banned from uploads until further staff review/action

This solution still may allow players to upload inappropriate pictures for a few seconds or minutes for others to see, but the upload is still logged and admins will still see it even if the player changes the picture after 1 second.

2)
-Charge players gralats for every gang picture update, and still implement Solution 1.

When this gang picture update is instituted, the judgement process will be pretty much the exact same.

and if they don't have enough of the gralats by the end of the due date, your gang would be deleted and you'll get banned for 3 days :3

(Skipped last few pages) Rewarding gang leaders for something they should already be doing by following the game rules certainly isn't a good direction.
I'd rather see more hardcore punishments than rewarding.. (You know damn well people will just make a gang purely for rewards)
A review system is good to put in place :) If not majorly tedious..
Should just make it an outright rule and leave it at that, if caught with a bad picture, 24 hour jail, deletion of gang and removed from being able to create/own a gang for two months. (After jail time! so 3 months..)

Though perhaps a screenshot or some sort of record of the picture in question would maybe needed as not to be abused by PR's for an easy jail on people or ruining a gang.

I have a question. Is it possible that once an admin approves your image for GPic, that it is put in a folder server side so if you ever wanted to change it back to that approved image you would not have to wait?

Sorta like customs. Once approved you have it in your inventory. Can the same thing be applied here?

I still think this would be simpler. Once approved you can change your gpic back and forth between all your approved images without having to wait.

Johnaudi 11-15-2012 09:54 AM

It would be nice to make some small community work, having some kind of Guardians of Era (around 20) which would approve Gang Pictures via PM's and would be rewarded daily.
It's a good addition to see players trying to do something too, right?

Angel 11-15-2012 11:33 AM

GOE - Gaurdians of Era
•We help the community!
•Approves gangpictures
•Answers Questions
•We are the oldbies
•Community Work
Have no fear GOE is here.

Maybe there'll be a little signup in game for the guardians and admins choose only trustworthy people. That would be great!

Point of having players to do that, is to step away from admin's work + would become faster for players to get their GP accepted.

Jester Lapse 11-15-2012 05:08 PM

Then the players needs to be older and hand picked.

Jester Lapse 11-15-2012 07:38 PM

Then people will cry favoritism

Also age and maturity are not the same

30 mins wait after changing it? A lot of people do show things by using gang pics so don't want to be waiting an hour to show 2 things. Also how would you get people to check them? People lie about their age and it would be hard to know who to trust.

I understand why this is happening but it does seem a bit like a few people ruin it for the rest of us. The idea of it being logged and checked daily does seem like the best answer.

Also 1 EC wont keep everyone happy and getting paid each time they upload a pic would be too easy to make money.
