I think if a kid is mature enough then there is no problem, in that kids case then there could well be problems.

Really this is it.
In the end no ratings board or research reports can substitute a parents judgement of their child. The parents knows their child better than anyone else. If they think their kid will be okay playing a rated M game then thats their decision. In this video's case I think the parents made a poor decision since it seems like that kid has some emotional problems.

It should be decided on a case by case basis. I'd let my kid play Halo or Skyrim which are both rated M before I'd let them play GTA or Bioshock which are also rated M but much more violent.

GTA V is rated R here, and the rating only just got introduced. Annoyed, but was never planning on getting the game.

I like how anyone who doesn't agree with you is now suddenly "less of a man". Ya, okay. Because you're always right or something.

hhhehehe

That was hypothetical. I don't plan on having kids any time soon.

Jester, since you disagreed with him, you're obviously a bad person. Redeem yourself and agree with him!

Jester Lapse 09-19-2013 01:20 AM

I like being a bad person.

Hampton 09-19-2013 03:11 AM

Good plan. I'll go with your idea and disagree with him too.

I still don't think it's for 11 year olds. Hell, I'm not even used to this kind of stuff. I have taken a week or so break from it.

Pazx 09-28-2013 02:00 PM

You've taken a week or so's break from what? GTA? Violence?

GTAV. Mainly because I haven't had much time to play anything lately. It just feels good to have a break from it and not hear cuss words every 3 seconds or Trevor torturing/being sexual to someone.

Rexx 09-28-2013 10:04 PM

Nobody is forcing you to play it.

Tyler 09-28-2013 10:11 PM

I know. It's fun, but I probably shouldn't have gotten it. I can't really return it either unless I want only a portion of what I bought it for. I mainly just want the online so I can mess around on it with other people. I wasn't interested in it for the story, but thought I would try it anyways.

Dusty 09-28-2013 10:12 PM

You can give it to me...

It's ok to have social boundaries, but damn - you have to wake up and realize that the world around you is much more ruthless.

Sorry, I've never lived in that kind of environment so I don't really understand. Everyone where I live for the most part is nice. I rarely come across someone who acts otherwise. Even when I was in High School hardly anyone bullied each other in my grade. If that's what the world is really like outside these boundaries, I'm glad I've never been exposed to it.

You have a world of ****ty reality coming at you in the future lol.
I guess you could avoid it though by living with your parents until they die.

Pazx 10-02-2013 10:06 AM

Tyler is easily the most sheltered person in this community.

Kiko 10-02-2013 06:11 PM

I played GTA 3 when I was young, and I turned out alright.. right guys...
