Sorry for the bump, but Chick fil A is doing an interview tonight at 8 with me. I'm a bit nervous; anything I should prepare for?

Don't really have advice besides being yourself within professional reason. Good luck with your interview.

I'm a costume designer and technician in a couple of small local theatre businesses.

I work with clients of all shapes and sizes. You could say I hire them to the company. I don't make a lot of money, but I get a sick office room and the experience is fantastic.

Just landed an interview for a computer support associate position. Super hyped for the interview, but also nervous!

Go you! Tell us how it goes :). On another note, my Chick-fil-A interview was actually rescheduled to Thursday, so I have a little more time to think about what I want to talk about. I'm also pretty nervous haha

I'm sure you'll do fine! Just stay calm and it will probably be a lot easier then you think. Good luck :)

Foxmon 09-24-2015 01:33 AM

I've been working as a piano teacher for 8 years now.

As for your interviee, be yourself and ask questions about the job (not about vacations, lunch breaks or something like that) and you should be fine! Best of luck!

Do you make sure your cover letter and résumé is relative to the position you're applying for? E.G when I applied for the job I am at now since it's an internet company I made sure to make my résumé and cover letter match with it and got hired pretty fast, this also helped when I worked for DND. By this I mean don't add things to your résumé that aren't relative to the job, so if you are applying for a technical job don't talk about your amazing baby sitting skills (just an example)

Also try different style résumés and if you ever reapply somewhere definitely do not use the same one. I also always gave them a call or checked up with them personally and asked for an update if they had checked it or not, showing initiative is always good.

If it's a place like a fast food restaurant or store you could always shop/eat there casually as well and build up some connections before hand which would also help your chances.

Topic is about jobs, not only did I just name what my job is now and what it use to be, but I also replied to somebody with what could be helpful information about getting a job.

No sense in making a new thread about resumes and applying for jobs when we have one here (that it is sort of dead and has been about applying for jobs for a while already) in the future don't call someone out for being off-topic because that's just you being off-topic as well so is this reply but I'm just trying to clarify that what I said really wasn't off-topic.

Not replying to anymore posts about this since I don't want to start an argument but yeah, no harm in trying to offer helpful advice.

Will do!
Joining as an AC Op. If everything goes well, I could be posted to any base operated by the RCAF. Perhaps Trenton will be my new home in a few months.

Got a really nice help desk position lined up, finishing the hiring process. They said the position is basically mine, and I just have to finish a few steps in the process. I'll be making over $40,000/year after training. Just hoping they don't back out on me.
