How many people do you really know in your life that are so miserable to think that offering their own insights & inspiration is egotistical? You have no clue what I am doing or why I am saying what I am saying, because you are but a man. The problem with our generations is that many of you, like yourself, have allowed giant capitalistic swine to degenerate the truth into accusations of egocentricity toward anyone who outshines anyone (for worldly reasons); I really feel sorry for you; you must honestly feel heavy, and I am not being sarcastic. I truly hope you find it within yourself to open up to grace.

Graal has lived in my heart for 15 years; divine inspiration is always a fine dear wine from the loving Gift of God, my friend—not Miley Cyrus on a hotdog.

Dude, first off you have no idea what you are talking about. I was working for both Graal Classic & Graal 2001; I majored in Video Game Design after high school on top of my prior experience throughout high school, then worked independently in high end marketing & internet engineering, software, & game design for the past 10 years. I am professionally a top-level interactive programmer, designer, writer, marketer, prophet, & entrepreneur.

The amount of players on the server is besides the point; everyone likes to flail around here scapegoating, "BUT THERE'S PEOPLE NOW!!!! AND TOOOONS OF HATS!!! NEW CHANGES!!!! AND CHING CHING!!! EVERYTHING'S DIFFERENT!"

I've got news for you, looking at how Graal is now and was then—it reeeeaallly hasn't changed much so quit lying to yourself unless you were there. There were 300 people online at any given time at the time I worked on Graal; there is not much difference from appealing to 300 people & 4,000 contrary to whatever Donald Trump expert thesis you pretend you've written about the topic.

Creativity is about having a soul; it's about passion, inspiration, skills, and yes, marketing. I am not the same 14 year old I was, so this notion that in the past 15 years I've done absolutely nothing with my life just shows how incompetent your discernment is. Graal Classic already existed; it hasn't changed much, contrary to what people think. In fact it keeps recycling a lot of the same content, scripts & graphics (although there's a lot of neat new ones), and concepts without breeching the surface. The server is beginning to look a lot like corporate Disney Land because the developers have skills, but not inspiration.

I doubt graal classic will ever expand gameplay wise etc. Seems like any idea to change gameplay is thrown into the trashbin. Either way graal seems pretty limited to what it can handle. I personally like playing but I know I'm not the only one hoping for a huge gamechanger

TD* 11-01-2015 08:16 PM

Case in point. Given a load of responsibility, the 13 year old degenerates into a self-absorbed and spiteful no longer suitable for the task he was originally given.

There's a lot of potential; all the energy that was put into the Halloween decorations could be put into beautifying & enchanting all of the levels permanently. You know? I don't mean to say they don't have inspiration, but yes consistent minor tweaks or "gamechangers" would be lovely without losing the basic concept or being weird.

I know it has potential in that way but we've all seen Dusty wanting to develop new gamechanging content yet it all being scrapped

Graal is a business now; it must continue to generate consistent revenue. So, big changes are likely never to occur due to Unixmad's ultimately authority on the matter, which is logical. He lives in a world. So I definitely think that the next best bet would be to begin adding a lot of the beautiful charm they have in their holiday bonanzas to tweaking things like big empty fields, long rectangular roads, rectangular cliffs, long lines of rectangular trees, making some of the houses more mystical in their outer appearance to suit the insides, etc. In this way, the cosmetics won't interfere with the business but add to it.

The game could really use some writers.

MattKan 11-01-2015 08:34 PM

You're combing your ego by trolling the forums of a community whose average user is 15 years your younger. It's a discussion about design, so it really shouldn't be viewed in terms of winners and losers—but there's a clear loser here.

I'm totally into game lores and good written quest stories etc so that'd be awesome. I'd also love to see more details aswell but they're going in the right direction with it already

The difference between 300 and 4000 players is huge when it involves giving hormonal teenagers administrative powers. Classic pulls 100k unique players a week. I don't care about what you've done since you were 13 and I don't care who you were at 13. The point is that nearly every 13 year old kid does not have the emotional maturity to handle that kind of power.

Also, sorry I burst your ego, but being a washed up Graal Dev jerking yourself off over what you did 15 years ago isn't all that cute.

Quote:

Posted by antago (Post 628250)
Okay I almost respected your opinion until you lowered yourself to vermin. And FYI, I was never paid by Graal you ungrateful fool; therefore, I am not "washed up". Everything I did was to feed the public; this isn't Hollywood, so sorry to bust your bubble, but my accomplishments in life will never, ever be yours—so the next time you wanna jerk off to some jealousy & demean another person's entire existence, maybe you should ask yourself why you pathetically drowning about in a community where you haven't done **** to contribute anything of real value to enhance another's life.

I think the real issue here is that, in your own words, these forums are your entire existence. Move on.

And frankly, Imprint doesn't need me to say this, but he's helped me through some pretty tough **** in the past. For you to say that he's done nothing to contribute anything to another's life is both asinine and historically false. You can hide behind your mental thesaurus and maybe impress some people, but, like I said, it's obvious who the real loser is. And I mean that in the truest sense of what the word 'loser' actually means.

when i heard people talking about newly hired admins. people said new gps were 12 or 13. i thought it was a joke, until i think i met some of them thru skype while i was in touch with ryan6, brenda. not they only sounded like 13, they were actually 13-15.

they were nice and they weren't trying to be immature. but i still wouldn't give a job to some 13 year old, there are a lot of terms that they weren't familiar with imo. im not trying to be rude, just talk to some 13 year old kids irl or read what you wrote when you were 13.
if you are a normal kid, it is hard to make a fully thoughtful decision regarding some player's issues. even when you are trying to act mature, it just won't work.

this doesn't mean people older than 15+ are mature either.

Bru are you serious? I thought Brenda was like 26

Wow, if you can't sit around & eat nacho cheese watching Jersey Shore, you may as well sit around on a forum posting memes pretending other people are stupid enough to value your opinion of them. Let me save you the trouble in life: NOBODY CARES. Opinions are like assholes; everyone has them, and you can shove your **** in someone else's face as a so-called present or take it away in punishment. My self-worth isn't dependent on anybody

Perhaps you should follow this advice yourself. You seem pretty blind to what's going on here. I understand you want people to know your ideas, but you really don't have to go the extra step to try and spread your ego while doing so. It's become embarrassingly obvious by now.

The purpose of this thread was to see why and if classic and other servers really went into in-depth background checks. Everyone has something great they could put into a server and I really respect that.

People are being antagonistic towards antago because he is really putting himself out there with his arguably controversial comments and opinions and unfortunately, this is the case for many people and this is also a reason why many people aren't hired. Background checks aren't just based on bans and warnings. Common behavior is also a major factor and many people do not pay attention to this fact.
