Didn't miss read this though, just tired of hearing people assume alumni will win. Thought I would give my opinions as to why alumni isn't a super guild. And after explaining why alumni isn't a super guild, many teams beat alumni in Guild spar rooms at super nicks and at belle. Clearly beatable, idevice and PC. That was my point, everything else was for ****s and giggles.

That wasn't the real alumni. There was no Dante or Mk, both of them are key players. With the whole team it's easier/more natural to do super good, since their chemistry has been building up tourney after tourney. Until other teams develop way more teamwork, things will stay the same.

Lol aguzo said "even though I carried" and deleted it. Aguzo I said TEAMS beat alumni, not just us. And I did great myself too even though I wasn't MVP. Didn't even want to include myself in this. And ya even though they didn't have Kk and Dante, they were sparring against illegitament guilds, just last minute made teams of people.

this one time, I went to the BA and got on a temporary tag and recruited temporary members and temporarily sparred an actual guild of players who were leisurely on their main tag, with subs and friends, and then I posted about it 5 times on the forums

Haven't followed spar guilds. But either way, gunna wait for Alumni to be beaten before I drop them off my ranking.

The last time top PC sparrers made a consensus of who was best of all time was 2006. We haven't attempted it since then, and half or more people in the previous top 10 don't play anymore. Thallen was definitely top 10 back then, and is possibly the only top 10 that still plays. I'm counting the EGSL draft list. There were other really good people who don't play anymore, and Brett.

Here's how I see stuff right now:

Mixed

1. Alumni - Not using our original "unbeatable super team"™ this GST, but after my experience participating with Deity I think we'll be fine
2. Blackout - Any team with Brett is good, Zideruic and Aguzo are good, Dark is good if he's doing it with them
3. Entity - I don't think people will know how to spar them

iDevice

1. Alumni - They seemed to do fine in Predation last GST, can specifically recall them winning a round 4 vs. 5 in the finals
2. Apostles - If PT finally caved in and decided to do iDevice and they use the best iDevices on their roster then they'll do well, otherwise I don't know
3. Silver - They always end up doing well and have sparred together for years now

Too hard to accurately judge iDevice teams because most of them make changes a few days before the GST

predation was great but then again DoT only had 3 people ready to spar on our core. the whole 5vs4 thing is kind of nonsense when 2 of the 5 only got 1-2 hits. more like (dot)3vs4(predation) either way predation was really hard to spar against even if we had 5 good people ready to spar during gst.

Alumni is strong as usual.
Entity is looking good as of late. They've got pretty good chemistry.
Blackout is always the toughest team to beat.
BTK probably won't enter but I hope they do.
No idea whats going on with Apostles.

Alumni looks really good. Alex has been practicing a lot lately and has gotten really good.
Silver has really good chemistry and seem to be good friends, adds to it.
VIS always has good gsers, expecting them to do well.
CRZ/whatever tag they use also has good sparrers like Tom, Dark and Jose. Haven't had their moment in the winners circle yet, but they've been getting better over time.

I am completely OK with someone being cocky if they can back it up. Like him or not, the guy has been champion for almost 2 years now. If I take someone like Brett for example, I wouldn't have a problem at all with him calling himself the best sparrer in the game because he can back it up. Even I find myself acting cocky sometimes, but I'm always humble in victory or defeat. I'm pretty sure the entire Alumni PC roster is that way except for mk. He's always humble. This thread should have been created last week during St. Valentine's Day. :love:

not really... I haven't been an active sparrer since 2012 but I've been actively online sparring for two weeks now doing pretty well... All I've been saying is that I wish people would stop viewing Alumni as too good to beat and instead find ways to beat them. People just take what I say the wrong way because they have some weird ass opinions about me when I've never even had a real conversation with any of you nor do i want to lmfao.

Blackout and Apostles clearly don't view us as too good to be beaten or they'd haven given up or changed their team
