Done some more work on the Graal Viewer.
It has a new updating system and a few minor bugs have been fixed.
Here is a sneak peak on what the update system is like.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...26842414_n.jpg

You need a new icon :o

Gunderak 05-22-2012 11:19 AM

Why's that lol?
I made that one ages ago and kinda stuck with it xD
Also just a video of the update system if anyone is interested:

I also have the walk animation partly working.

16 x 16 I think. It'll have to be converted into an .ico though.

You can use this to convert it if you're going for it though <3

Gunderak 05-22-2012 12:10 PM

Bam if you make one there isn't any garuntee I'll use it, just so you know.
If you want to make one for fun then go ahead :)
If I like it, I might use it.

Van Canavi 05-22-2012 10:43 PM

Why don't you create the vbscript interpreter for OSX. Then it will work.

Make sure it's the correct dimensions for a head.

Gunderak 05-23-2012 06:02 AM

Nyx stop being silly.
And Shawn how could you possibly check the code for keyloggers?
Anyway there is NO keyloggers in it. Virus scan it :P even download fiddler and watch outgoing http requests if you don't believe me.
And as for the error I think I know what might be causing it.
When I get home I'll have a proper look.
And Shawn could you please post your specs?
OS and .NetFramework version if possible.

Gunderak 05-23-2012 08:17 AM

Shawn I have figured out why that head won't work.
My app was checking for images with a height less than 560 and the head height was 560.
I have corrected this and made it less picky, it can be 5 pixels under or over.
And as for the string not being converted to boolean, I have fixed that and have attached a image of the actual error it's self.
Anywho I have released v2.2 which includes a beta of the walk being added.
Note it isn't done yet, so please don't post like "it's not working properly" Thanks :)

If anyone is interested I have successfully added walk to Graal Viewer.
I am not releasing it as an update until I finish shields off tomorrow.
If you would like to see it working you may download a beta from here.

The Doctor 05-23-2012 11:41 AM

Well, you can't really compile VB to Mac unless you want to recode it in c++...

Gunderak 05-23-2012 12:01 PM

Highey I don't even own a Mac, and this isn't a substitute for a GANI making program.
So how do you propose I code it for a Mac?
All OSX does is sits there and looks pretty.
If you like development stuff you use windows.

If scripting? I'd suggest python. More specifically, wxPython since it includes wxWidgets.

For an actual program? Java. Much easier to get cross-compatability then C++

Gunderak 05-23-2012 12:47 PM

I actually thought of using Java but I'm not familiar enough with it to do anything.

well since windows can use the tileset editor, i feel mac , which cant use tileset editor, needs it more.

cant it be converted into something both OS can use?

they dont exactly tell you that all these programs your Mac cant use, i didnt know that it was this much, i had no idea macs couldnt run EXE and stuff, thats just crazy, why hasnt it been fixed to run these things? like i devices not supporting flash this is just insane. it makes it a pain in the ass and they dont tell you it before you buy it.

This is why you should read about a product before you buy it.

assuming you meant 'before YOU buy it' and that you arent asking me to review your wish list, I trusted someone and was desperate to quickly get a new working computer for something i needed.

Gunderak 05-24-2012 03:51 AM

Generally consumers research into products before splurging hundreds or even thousands.
And most people know macs don't run EXE's and that iDevices don't natively support flash.

Higbey 05-24-2012 04:20 AM

I knew that they didn't run some programs but I figured in this day and age that wouldn't be a problem, I mean I thought someone made a thing that can translate the script into something the Mac can run.

The main reason iDevices don't support Flash is because Steve Jobs didn't want to have it on there (for some reason)... I wish he would've added it.

callimuc 05-24-2012 12:51 PM

You can have iDevices support flash. Google is your best friend!

Gunderak 05-25-2012 12:47 PM

If they are good I will be more than happy to code it.

I got bored of Java, when I'm bored I make plug-ins for minecraft.
C++ already learning their Dynamics, Pythin is just like Turtle move :P Turtle.Left(30) hell ez, he won't use it only on Server Sided Scripts (SSS) such as the apple application (Siri)
