Anywho, MSM. Try not to use a lot of colors that are almost the same exact color. The only part of the skateboard that looks shaded is the part that is down, where it gets slightly darker. You need to remember shading techniques, and what the texture of different things are.

It's not over. You haven't even fixed the skateboard. The skateboard is a poor 5 minute job in paint.

Let me explain.

Your skateboard was obviously shaded using a gradient or the paintbrush tool with AA on. Therefore it has 33 colors when it seems to have about 4. The video below explains how I test this and how I got the palette.

Your skateboard isn't even your work as it's pretty much a recolor/edit of the default.

Why do you make pixel art once a month? You wont improve that way. Practice makes perfect and I think you get my point.

#1: My Skateboard I got from a friend. It was a plain white template, each skateboard space was outlined in black but white.

#2: I make more than 1 a month, but i only like to post 1 a month

#3: It took my more than 5 minutes

Your friend gave you the default template with the lineart filled in. All you had to do was color it.

I use it to see if I have any stray colors in my images.

Why would you have stray if you're doing pixel by pixel?

I'm always testing colors and some have little contrast between them. My eye sight isn't all that good so I'm always leaving stray pixels in my work which is why I use that program to give me the palette.

Try out pro motion 6.5, it's specially made for pixel art and is amazing. There's a free trial but after that it's $78 :(
