Me, very good, alot of drama and action with some comedy relief. I love it so far,
but it'll be sad when it finishes in the next few weeks.

thx u

Has anyone finished a mainstream anime? I always make it to 200 something episodes and just stop and watch another anime. I've done it for Bleach, Naruto, and Naruto Shippuden.

Pazx 12-10-2013 12:55 AM

most mainstream anime are (is?) ongoing though

i gave up around 200 for naruto too lol

Talon 12-10-2013 12:58 AM

yeah, Shippuden got bland for me after I saw the direction they were taking it after around 250ish, especially with the obscene amount of fillers

twilit 12-10-2013 01:57 AM

Shippuden's actually finally picking the pace back up. The war is starting to wrap up more or less. But there's still a lot we all know they are going to draw out and prolong.

Description
In the world of Toriko, many extravagant and delicious ingredients exist in the most dangerous places, and it is up to the Bishoku-ya, or Gourmet Food Providers, to hunt down these animals and plants in the face of danger. Toriko is one such Bishoku-ya, taking his place as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bishoku-ya with his immense strength and appetite. Together with Komatsu, a timid chef trianed in the art of preparing food; Coco, the poisonous Bishoku-ya who can see the future; Terry Cloth, the offspring of a clone of the long-extinct Battle Wolf; and many more, Toriko takes on job after job while searching for the foods great enough to make it into his dream full-course meal.

It's over today, I'ma cry now. I love that series so much, might even consider it as one of my most favorite series. I thought WataMote was a great comedy series, but NouCome topped it, definitely my favorite comedy series now.

After the last episode, I am totally on Team Ouka Yuuougi

roughly 3 hours later:

Whisper of the Heart was good. Similar to From Up on Poppy Hill in the way that it bares resemblance to slice of life and school anime, but differs in the way that it doesn't suck. It also avoided being a trashy teen romance, and provides nice insight into the world of junior high students.
Spoiler
The movie was paced well, it wasn't rushed or forced but unlike From Up on Poppy Hill it kept moving, and the romance was good (besides the whole "will you marry me" thing at the end which felt quite dumb, but I suppose it was to show that they were made for each other). The characters were realistic and 3 dimensional. Typical of Studio Ghibli, fantasy elements were present, both in Shizuku's story and the antique store, but the realistic and relatable nature of the film is what makes it stand out. Yoshifumi Kondo did an excellent job directing the film, and it differs to films done by Miyazaki particularly in the animation and backgrounds (which are spectacular) but it still is a SG film and resemble's Hayao Miyazaki's other films. It references other SG films, and I thought the Baron was dressed similarly to the Prince in Howl's Moving Castle. The dub was good, it's not a film where you must watch it with subtitles. The ending still kinda sucked though. A lighthearted movie that aims to give you that warm fuzzy feeling, well worth watching.

hey it double posted instead of merging into one

radical

Watch 'the cat returns' next, it's the book that the girl wrote in whisperer of the heart

So I'm watching Kyoukai no Kanata (Beyond the Boundary). Pretty fun right now, nice balance of drama and comedy, but some of the character development is glaringly forced. Just nitpicking though, I recommend it.

i like the animation though the story seems a tad boring and doesn't draw my attention too much.
