I'm sure people here would be willing to be a medium to help you trade from one of your games to the other.

You have a Charmander on X, and you want it on Y. I come in "hey, I'll help you. Just give me your Charmander, and then get on Y and I'll trade it back."

Just make sure you ask for collateral. That means if you give them your Charmander to hold, make sure they give you something equally rare so they have a reason to give it back to you and not just keep it.

Alternatively, I'm sure there will be plenty of people around here willing to trade if that's all you're concerned about. The online trading has really simplified the process. When I was playing the DS versions it was insanely easy to find the Pokemon I wanted. A lot of people specifically breed pokemon and give them away freely. I managed to get all the starters from gen 1 without having to give away anything of value.

Trading is only a bit of it, I want to have all 3 starters early on, and both legendaries at the end on one. Also, there are benefits to having multiple 3DS's in general because of streetpass. Naturally I will still be open to trades with this community, but if no one has what I am looking for, I can easily go get it myself. It also makes me a good tool seeing as I will have access to all the pokemon.

I hope to god people don't ruin the gts again with hacked pokemon. That's all that's on the current gts, not a single legit player honestly looking for a reasonable trade.

You can send custom Pokemon over to your game, through the GTS. I believe there's now an app for it..

They can be flawless, shiny, and have the desired abilites and moveset. I don't even own a legitimate Pokemon game at the moment, needless to say, but way back when, I would have countless of Pokemon obtained through this method. :)
