LOL at considering this an exploit...

hosler 03-21-2013 11:34 PM

well it is an exploit by definition

I think it makes the game more balanced and more fun to have a semi god mod. There would be no point to having ap if they didnt reward players for being good.

I meant collision completely in any PK zones. I personally think it adds more hassle than anything, and doesn't really add to the experience. I'd say maybe have collision enabled in spars, but otherwise I just don't see the point.

woe woe woe woe woe! Blocking = contraversial problem; therefore, make EVERYWHERE non-collision? What? Walking through people just makes it 10x easier to get behind them to hit from behind. (along with other technicalities). And why leave sparring with collisions exclusively? There are similar tactics in towering and pking; its not just sword spam believe it or not. What I mean is, the reasons why you think spar should be left with collisions is the exact reason why PK zones in general should be left the same way. Maybe if it were possible, just make a small "non collision" area around towers' doors?

Spoiler
The following is a brief rant:
This is why I hate bugs being fixed; they are fixed in the most round-about way. Such as horses: instead of finding a more practical way of fixes the various horse glitches, now you get kicked off your horse for running over any hard object such as a laggy player or a regrowing bush.

And also the "blinking vs lag blocking": Some people have much longer "blink interval" while I seem to take sword spam hits easily. Oddly enough its easy to notice that the people who blink longer are the same ones who have bad lag.

I hate when these threads turn into people trying to discuss technicalities and other issues regarding hit detection, lag, and other mechanics of Graal that they don't understand. It reminds me of the sparring thread where Lia and Goten tried to convince people that "delayers have an advantage because they can hit other people straight on."

Your blink and latency are completely unrelated. They are not dependent upon each other. They have no relation. The only way to effectively extend the time that you're able to blink and block is by suffering a decrease in FPS. Try sparring on a garbage, old iPod. You are going to probably move a lot slower, and thus you will blink a lot longer (because your FPS is lower).

If you encounter someone who both has ridiculous latency and low FPS, they either live a miserable life of poverty or they are intentionally doing this and cheating (which is the likely scenario, in my experiences).

I find this insulting. I did not have anything to do with the kicking off of horses, and in fact I'm the one who stepped in(despite not really being staff at the time) and remedied those issues people were having with horses. I rarely ever implement a bug fix, or change of any kind and leave it as is. I monitor it for days/weeks after I have changed it to make sure no further issues crop up.

Just because you have had bad experiences in the past with bug fixes and the sort doesn't really mean we're all lazy, and half-assing our way through stuff.

It was something that was being considered. There is a reason it hasn't been implemented.

Im sorry, I was not insulting anyone in particular. I didnt accuse YOU of specifically doing this. The players never know which staff member contributed to what.
