According to Stefan most lag isn't coming from scripts or playercount, but many players in one level. Yet players whine when they get unstuck from Graal City...

Then its about time to implement that system that disconnects AFKS.

Players will never spread out. Sorry. Players sit and idle in Graal City for various reasons, but the most important thing to realize is that they're idling. Therefor content outside of Graal City means nothing to them, because they're not even there.

So basically, we need something that can attract players to go out of an area.

I did an experiment: I said that rufus was giving hats out in MoD town. A few people went. Not much of a difference though.

When nexus is open, it lags. A lot. Why don't we have two nexuses, open at the same time in different areas? Halves the lag on a level, but contains the same content.

OR we could find out why people flock to graal city.
I asked two questions to the people there:
1. Why they stay in graal city?
2. What would make them leave
The answers were:
1. People, non-pk,
2.PvP, events, shops.

That won't work, because you're missing the point. New content will make players go check it out... and then they go back. They will always go back because their appeal is not content but idling. Either for hours, or to advertise whatever the hell they're advertising... they do so in Graal City. They always will, and players in most online games always clump into areas like that.

I will do mines next Friday when I get back!! Also someone told me that the server lag was due to GS3? (if that's what it's called).

Make several burger refuges. Put unstick me points near all of them.

I bet you this spreads the pop.

^^^^this

1.I have suggested this before. Simply put it in the forums and in the news/fb that the idle warp time is going to be dramatically reduced (20-30 seconds) due to severe lag issues caused by idling in graal city. don't allow ppl to have the ability to idle.

2.Or just change it so most of the gmap is pk. They can't idle very well if they are dying. There are plenty of pools/buildings you can go in to keep from being pk'd.

Thallen 07-28-2013 08:34 AM

someone needs to communicate to Stefan that the lag issue isn't anything in the routing or network infrastructure or whatever, it seems like something that is caused by a stressed playercount

saying this because when the server wasn't able to be connected to and there were only 800 people online at 8 PM the other day, sparring was as smooth as ever

ufoburan 07-28-2013 08:41 AM

I believe I mentioned this before, but the lag has been crappy since end of may/begging of June which is when the vast majority of players(in the usa)who are on average (12-16) are out of school on summer vacation and the player count has been a good 3-400 higher than normal almost 2k on daily. Where as in the fall and winter when a lot of days the player count struggled to reach 1.5k So i just naturally figured the lag was from a higher than normal player count do to this.

HON3Y BADG3R 07-28-2013 11:01 AM

Part of it is that its summer.

Graal city needs to become smaller. Make a underground area with stalls. The stalls will be sorted by guilds, shops, and contests. Theyll be free and it will be a long line of player stalls advertising there guild and things. This could be put as a staircase down, while up top, its all pk. The area can even be put on a smaller server to reduce lag!

Would you mind if I gave you a video of iEra? I'm pretty sure out lag is worse than iClassics if you can imagine.

Rotaruc 07-28-2013 11:09 AM

Graal needs better servers. thats what i think.

And how is this possible? There's no way to differentiate players who are sitting there, PMing, Chatting, and being active staring at screen. To those who are actually AFK.

The servers just need new systems, something that can easily hold over 2000 players, while running smoothly. It's not people idling, or sitting there causing trouble, it's the server that can't help but cause lag due to its outdated systems.

Why don't you ask someone to speak with Stefan in German? lol.

I think I'll take my video at the Daycare, so others have something to enjoy too.

The manager of PC Classic attempted this, the response he got was something like "Can't you just do it in English, I feel stupid when receiving such mails."

Pretty sure he's referring to framerate lag, having lots of players on screen seems to cause that, don't see why it would cause network lag since there's no specific hosts for specific levels.
