I'm confused...so US won a game against another guild and because it's an admin guild they were accused of cheating? Yet they stay oblivious to the other hundred games they've won?

I will explain if it means that this gets put to a rest.

Round 1
We poop on team.

Round 2
We poop on team.

Round 3
We poop on team.

Semifinals vs. CRU
Match #1: We win convincingly.
Match #2: We lose by 0.5.
Match #3: During this match, one of our players (Trip) remains frozen at the top of the spar for roughly 5 seconds. Zeross gets owned and is crying to the host as if it somehow advantages us that one of our players was frozen for an extremely brief period of time (which resulted in us getting teamed up on by multiple members and taking several hits). We win convincingly with both Ares and myself left alive.

Finals vs. Deity
Match #1: We lose by a few hits. Please keep in mind that up until this point, Rufus is not even online and participating. He logs on because I message him on Skype and tell him I feel more comfortable if he is in the lineup rather than one of our subs.
Match #2: During this match, Red Leo (for Deity) gets warped out of the arena at 2.5 HP. Let's go ahead and pause here to rewind to the 2012 Fall GST where the same exact thing happened to me and nothing was done about it. During this match, Rufus witnessed that I was warped out of the arena yet refused to intervene because (even though it was the fair and right decision) it'd look biased. Nonetheless, we agree to give Deity a rematch.
Match #3: We win pretty convincingly and Deity is again claiming that one of their members was warped out of the arena at 1 HP. I'm too busy killing everything to care or notice if this does happen, but we manage to win the round by 3-5 hits or so.
Match #4-5: We split the matches, I don't remember in what order.
Match #6: We win with me still alive and at 1.5 HP.

So, from the perspective of an idiot, it seems as if Rufus magically comes online to save his horrible sparring guild from doom, when in reality I asked that he come online to spar for US because Trip's brief freeze made me uneasy and I feel like he's a safer sparrer.

If you guys think Rufus (or just about any of other US member, for that matter) cares enough about a GST to manipulate it in a way to make it easier for us to win then you don't know guild's personalities. Rufus actually did not want to participate at all, and only did because Ares and Deophite decided they wanted to participate a day before the GST was to be held. We needed him so that we had a full team of 7.

As for the others:
  • Ares stops to type in the middle of GST spars
  • Trip comes online once in a blue moon
  • Dave cares so little that he literally has left the server in the middle of GSTs before
  • Crono would rather play Dota 2 or sleep than participate
  • Shannon only agreed to play after we tried hard to convince her to change her day's plans to be at the GST

Anyway, GG.

Thallen there isn't a need for you to prove anything. Everyone is just 'trolling', ''pulling your leg''. But even so, it was a pleasure reading all of that

Nope, there are actually people who believe that any part of this is in some way true, including the teams that we beat along the way to win the GST. I'd rather have a detailed explanation here in text so I have something to refer them to when they whine over it and try to put an asterisk by the win.

Okokokokokokok I'm so confused o.O, anyway.
Sorry Thallen, my mistake. Thought you were on the idiots side who made this thread.

I agree with like 98% of your detailed explanation. The part that I don't agree with or like is when you pm'd Rufus to come on and participate because you felt uneasy about one of your teammates. Last time I checked in almost all events specially in tournaments if your not their at the start your not allowed to jump in and participate. So why should the GST be any different?

I realize Rufus was just a sub,but if he didn't want to participate you could have gone out and recruited anybody to fill in one spot it's not like they would have had to participate just be on the team. Imo in future gst's any member not online at the start of the tournament should not be allowed to participate in the tournament, and nobody should be allowed to be substituted in or out in the finals that didn't participate in other matches.

I also think you should be able to change or re-submit your roster right up until the gst starts. I'm sure there have been lots of guilds who submit their line up for the gst then only 3-4 of them are online at the start of their match up and have to compete in a handicap match and lose right off the bat. Or maybe they could let single players register to be alternates that can be added to gst rosters for teams whose players where no shows, but they would have to be in the arena at the start of the gst to be eligible.

You're forgetting that Rufus owns US

Who wouldn't?!

Talbourn 07-28-2013 11:38 AM

I'll go ahead and say it. For those of you who are not familiar with Graal PC, at one point, US had a large portion of the best sparrers playing the game. Since the migration to iPhone/Facebook, only a small fraction of the players have came over and actively participated in the competition. No offense to any PC players in US that I'm not about to list, however, PC players know the dream team.

Brett
Ares
Prado
Squirt
Highlander
Rygor
Thallen* (addition during iDevice era, still OG PC player)

iDevice players, just thank Rufus for not summoning the '95-96 Chicago Bulls.

On another note, congratulations to US and 'everyone' for winning the Summer GST.

Rufus was a core, we just didn't feel like we needed him until the finals. Also, US isn't a guild that just randomly recruits people for the purpose of filling out a team for the GST, so that isn't a possibility really.

Next season we should have Prado and David available so we won't need Rufus to fill in for anyone.

actually i was playing a ranked cs:go game, ok? :(

GotenGraal 07-28-2013 03:27 PM

rufus didnt participate at first because he was preparing his hax then tallen gave him the signal n he haxxed to win

G Fatal 07-28-2013 03:40 PM

Any form of spar sucks as eitherway there will be lag and delaying involved as the opponent isn't on exact same wifi, speed, place from server etcetcetc so spar will never exactly be fair.. and most delay/lag on purpose anyway.even if they adamantly say they don't.
