Yes, because making baddies not completely glitchy, and in fact somewhat smart is making it MORE boring.

I didn't mean to sound rude - I was under the impression that the baddies were just given a buff without changing anything else. I wasn't aware they were made more intelligent etc.

My apologies; I should have checked before complaining

Well they were completely recoded from scratch, so with it comes a few thing like being more intelligent, but more importantly more responsive and fun to fight:

> They're much easier to hit for a multitude of reasons, including larger hit boxes(you don't have to be so close to register a hit) and it registers if you have hit them on your screen, not on the server(so even if you're laggy, you can still fight them).

> They don't get stuck nearly as much as the older ones(like stuck on the corner of your player, constantly trying to get to you instead of attacking).

> They have smarter behavior, and do a better job of trying to follow you, even around corners and such. They'll also do things like walk around bombs and such. I guess this isn't a big deal though, most baddies don't live long enough to really show this sort of thing off.

> They don't swarm the player anymore, only one will "find" and chase you if they see you, rather than ALL of them at once. They kind of have a hive-mind.

> If it fails to be able to drop an item now(gralats, eyepatch... whatever) because it falls on a wall, they now drop where the baddy spawned so they're retrievable.

And as well, because of the changes the Pyrat quest was tweaked to adjust to the new difficulty. There is now a new section of cave with Pyrats in it, as well as spreading them out a bit more and making the caves a bit more spacious. Pyrats also have a low chance of dropping two eye patches. And eyepatches(And for the future, all drops) will now be owned by the person who did the most damage, rather than who got the last hit. Also a lot of bugs have apparently been resolved, such as not being able to get free kills just by sitting in the area.

It was a very rough "launch" but almost all of the old issues have been dealt with and they perform much better than they did when the thread was first made(thanks to all of the posts and such addressing issues. Feedback was mostly useless dribble about how "OMG PYRATS SUCK NOW CHANGE THEM BACK" instead of actually noting issues[like the ones on the gmap being invincible]). A lot of players were just sore though because they weren't as dumb as the old ones, so not as easy to mindlessly farm. But it's at least worth checking out once, but if you don't remember the old baddies it might be hard to really get an understanding of the improvements.

I didn't really see any issues with the Pyrats before. Besides it freezing every now and then. I just liked the fact that there was something I could quickly and easily to get gralats, not to mention the fact that I could pick up baddy kills as well. But it's w/e, one more thing I can't do to have some quick fun. Don't get me wrong, most of those "issues" truly have been fixed. Ggs Dusty...ggs.
