I started Black Lagoon yesterday. I'm 11/12 episodes done with the first season. I really am enjoying it so far. I was a little iffy about it being mainly action, but for some reason I find it very amusing.

Kind of difficult to explain, but basically a realistic story(not fantasy) that makes you think as you watch it to understand what's happening, often high emotional or dramatic, and has some very interesting themes about life as a whole. The characters in them are often difficult to understand, part of what makes it so great. As you watch them it leaves you curious to find more about a character, to try and truly understand their personality.

Tl;dr Things that are taken from real life and exaggerated it give it a specific theme to amuse the targeted audience

Not really. It's not that they're exaggerated, they're just complex situations that are more in depth, and you need to think about it. I do agree that in some ways they are exaggerated(soundtracks and animation style can make things seem a lot more emotional and stuff). Saying they have a "specific theme to amuse the target audience." is pretty much untrue. By "theme" I don't mean topic, I mean like a very broad concept in general, IE truth discovery love hapiness etc. Kinda hard to explain, and you need to decide what is meant for yourself-it isn't "specific" at all.

Hmm... Not sure if I've seen an anime like that, unless romance counts. Watamote focuses on a girl with social anxiety, but doesn't really have a strong story. I gave it a 10 because it was hilarious and true for people like me who suffer through social anxiety. I'm sure you've heard of Clannad already even though I still haven't seen it. Most of the animes I've seen involve some sort of unrealistic feature in it.

Tbh I did a ****ty job explaining what it is, and a lot of slice of life animes are about romance, but being a romance anime doesn't make it a slice of life

myanimelist.net categorizes it as a sliceoflife, so Ima guess it is

Slice of life basically describes the realism of everyday life in art and animation. Often showing the best and worst point of life, and often being emotionally provoking.
It could be just as simple as a club enjoying everyday at school with not much meaning to it, to a big story on a person who has been traumatized and learning to recover in a realistic way.
