One staff member can block a email account. Making reporting staff abuse impractical. Ban from game, if you have feedback they ban that, and if said staffmember finds your email about the abuse they can delete it and block the email account. Abuse is really quite easy to get away with on these servers.

I can honestly say that I personally rarely check the Feedback. Once upon a time, when Graal maxed out at 150 players, I would read it constantly for improvement ideas. It was a glorious time of growth and development, new staff members every week and watching the player-count rise person by person was the passing sport on RC.

Today's horizon is that of a new era. The Dawn of the Spam, as I like to call it. The majority of the crap sent through Feedback is just that - crap. I don't enjoy receiving feedback on how we should "ban Fancy Pancy Nancy bcuz she stole my look". I revile in the thought of Feedback. I almost (read: I really don't, but for theatrical sake) shed a tear whenever I half-read a good idea via feedback, but alas, it is utterly stabbed, kicked, pummeled, and ganked by ten individuals from the same guild that are requesting a staff member come take a picture with them in their guild house.

The moral of this story: Send your ideas via e-mail, facebook, or graalians PM if you want to get to me. Feedbacking, or PMing me in-game, will ensure the sad, sad destruction of your idea.

I feedbacked that iClassic should introduce a guild reporting system because I had seen several guilds that were dedicated to exploiting. A few minutes later I was banned from feedback. Fun times.

Personally I feel here is the best place to post ideas, they can be seen and have additional suggestions and criticism and such from other players and can be seen by the staff that want to improve graal. Sadly I feel soon players will flood to here and fill the forum with those crappy spam messages will outnumber the good ideas, like a npc that wanders around townsand says stuff like those npc staff at the nexus, perhaps saying useful advice. I cannot describe the sheer disapointment I experience when I make a fire arrow and a noob asks me where I bought it... -_-

I don't know era iphone.

An email system is efficient because it is saved and we can save it for others to read later on. Like developers. In fact, many changes we make are based off of feedback that Stefan reads in the email... Feedback system on Graal disappears when we sign off. So it is not AS efficient but when we are online we read it. A lot of people get all upset because we don't respond to their feedback. Obviously many just want to talk to staff member. *sigh* Care to explain why the email system isn't efficient other than just saying I'm perfect and not providing a simple argument?

Oh yea, almost forgot about the sence in my post Nick. Anyways lets pick apart your email method. So for one, some people (like 8 year olds with a graal account) can't/arn't aloud to use a email account to send constructive feedback which is a problem. two, i do know about when people send feedback, it goes into the "Feedback" IRC section of RC. There are ways that a scripter could store the information and open it in a gui for the staff to read (not that hard), in a week. Another graalian, and I recreated the basic princeible of your feedback system of you type the info and it sends to RC. Now back to the pesky email problem, the email system isn't sucure for one thing. To get on Iclassic, (last time I checked) your ip and/or PCID, and account had to match for you to go through the "login" server shielding iclassic from non-staff graalians with a PC client. Emails on another hand require a password to access the emails.
Lets say I wanted to get on your little email address, and wanted to get some emails to spam, or do whatever. I would just have to get your password via a hack or bringing one of the staff who can access it to bell's basement and get it (had to throw that in :P).
Unlike RC, the email system is what I like to call "Unlogged" which doesn't log the actions a certain staff member takes. for example, any email that someone doesn't like can just delete it. Now it does have some plus sides to it (i have to admit), it does allow Stefan to view feedback off client.
Now off that topic and to the part of the post where Nick Insults me, Nether you or I are perfect. "Perfection is in the eye of the beholder", I do knowice that my last post was less factual and more oppionated, but you also need to look at it this way. WHY have it if your not going to look at it? Think if no one is going to look at something, why is the feature in the programming? now riddle me that batgirl :P

I sorta agree with higbey with posting here for all to view and look but it is a fan forum

This is one of the things I've been worried of. Not that I dont want new people and new ideas but... whenever I go by the burger refuge and look at the maturity level of most players, I rethink wanting more people on thhe forums...

I feel the exact opposite. I need to rate some pics, fast.

I'm with nick here. First of all I don't know any constructive feedback an 8 year old will have. Nor do I think they should be playing Graal anyways. Storing the info would be worse, storing an online record? In a month there should be about 90000 feedbacks since we receive about 3000 a day. When a staff members receives that data on the client. An instant crash will appear. The email does have a record of responses, sent mail? No logs would be good or any log what so ever, but I happen to like the system as it doesn't lag, and usually you can't fit your feedback in the GuiTextEdit format even though it's pretty wide. Besides that, I would like an in-game feedback system but you will experience high amounts of lag and even more spam that doesn't float away in the RC if you don't decide to read it. It stays until someone does and it's probably spam like 80% of the other feedbacks.
