The spar community is not dead you are
13 people where in the idevice room last night sparring for hours.
Many status mention spar in it.
Many guilds guild spar for fun.

the spar community is dead when i'm willing to bet at least 10 of your 13 people in the idevice room had a negative ratio.
the spar community is dead when all of the statuses mentioning spar in them say something like "goal: go positive." (more negative ratios)
the spar community is dead when almost every single guild you can find in the guildspar arena contains a bunch of 8 year olds from graal city. (even more negative ratios, wow)

r.i.p. spar. goodbye every half-decent sparrer, hello 8 year olds.

I don't typically agree with a lot of stuff that Comyt says but I do have to agree to a point that the spar community is a shell of its former self. I think it's partly due to the older players losing interest, partly due to the introduction of the "boosting generation" as well as the lack of incentive to spar now. There's another thread for bringing back spar hats, which I fully support, as it will give incentive to the scene to try and jump start it again. I'm not even counting the difficulty in sparring now that the player count is higher and the server often can't take it on weekends or holidays. Overall, I agree that the scene of spar is not how it should be, much more desolate than I'd like to see it. I do hope this changes, but if things don't happen to jump start the spar community it will only get worse.

It's a pretty open tournament, people just make teams with decent sparrers and have at it but I think Alumni will take atleast one of the wins for sure.

These days getting a positive ratio is verry rare.
If a player would have positive they must have sparred back when people didnt boost as much

Some curent sparers boost fake ratios and pretend they kick ass when some curent negative new sparers are able to beat them in their sleep.

The sparring community is not dead we still have a ton of new players getting into sparring but we just lack honest sparers and rewards.
Just because some of your old friends are no longuer around with you in the arena doesnt mean sparring is dead at all.

Not always do Positive score peeps beat those Burger Refuges...ive seen Skull,Bradd...even Kevin losing to some newbies... would u also call them "boosters"?

Stop treating newbies like **** because once their no longuer a newbie they will treat the new newbies like **** and the cycle will continue

true, noobs grow and as they grow they get better than the previous spar generation. but right now, If I go in quick spar rooms and start beating decent ones, they run off to the other room. I clear the room go to other room, they run back to the first room or wait until I am up to spar, which means they won't face me if somebody else queues before me. like wtf.

I go to main room, 8 out of 10 were noob, but this is depend on the time. At Central Time evening it's more competitive, but morning time or lunch/school hour its full of noobs and almost empty spar rooms.

only 5-10%, that is people like skull, aguzo, brett, continued to stay and beat me. There's more, but i forgot, cuz it was awhile ago, but it's less than 10% of people I have faced decided to stay till they win.

That's my point, people either selective spar just like comyt said. Probably back in when I was recording Pro Sparrer Series, there's bunch of people whether they were pro or not, they never gave up until they finally beat me. Main spar room was filled with Alumni, US, some decent spar guilds all day, that's how I remember it.

Most of them aren't even offensive when they are facing me. From the beginning to the end some people just go straight off defensive. I don't say anything about this, because some people (foreigners) can't beat the other if they aren't defensive. I have basic knowledge of what's going on behind the server and players, but I am not 100% sure. So I never made a youtube video about it.

im technically new to competitive spar
only started sparring competitivly in june
but even though im negative i have lead 2 gst teams.
help alot of teams to get 6.6k or so and my spars not that bad

I think Gps should monitor the arena a bit more so we dont have boosting

My favorite is the pause/quitting the app for a few minutes then they come back see nothing has changed and then repeat the process.

Would be cool if each room required a certain number of wins or a certain ratio (2:1 or something) for a player to enter so that way players will be going up against other players who share their skill/boost level and they may actually be required to start sparring for real.

It is a good idea, but I don't think there would be many people in the higher up ratio ones and it wul get bland sparring the same person every time.

I don't think there was ever a US and Alumni at the same time, because Alumni was an attempt to steal every US member since Rufus sorta quit and the guild was tearing apart

From my understanding, it was made because US went inactive and it's only goal was to continuing a high tier spar guild, not to steal US members lol.

So for the purpose of making a GST guild? :D
