I think the fact that we aren't the 25 best sparrers in history is obvious. But I don't think anyone really cares about that. If we're talking about the GST on the GST thread, I'd point out that Alumni is the best guild to have done a GST.

Don't see a difference between what US did to GST and what Alumni is doing now. I give Alumni props to beating Blackout though.

Exactly... I said US dominating this server and Alumni dominating the server, the same thing. no competition. There aren't any active top tier sparring guilds besides alumni on iclassic. Saying Alumni can't be beat isn't true, the only thing supporting Alumni's dominance is the lack of top tier sparers outside of alumni actually doing something to stop Alumni.
Blackout is the best competition, great sparrers, but its not an organized guild that selects the best sparers they can have, its kind of just Brett's play pals. To get a good team you need to practice as a team, not just adding 1vs1 sparers to try to beat the only top tier TEAM on classic.
Just think the general public is brain washed into thinking so highly of Alumni just because of what they have done ON THIS SERVER. (the server that pc's from client log onto and instantly get great ratios and wreck everybody then go back to UN)
sorry I'm bringing new ideas to the table rather then saying "US is the best" in 2012, just to find out they weren't the best in 2014, Then start yelling "alumni is the best" in 2016, just to find out they aren't the best when the better UN sparers get their **** together and form a real team.

Alumni is beatable, but you don't seem to grasp that most people are aware of that. It's not that Alumni isn't beatable, it's the odds of them winning again based on skill, experience and how many they've already won. I am not sure if there are more than two teams who have won the GST 7+ times; the amount of wins they have alone proves they have more skill than most. I would love to see Alumni lose Mixed at least once in my playtime. Not because I don't like them, but because I hate how people feel intimidated; people still feel Facebook/PC is superior to iDev, leading good players away from Mixed.

Another thing you should consider is many people from 2009+ are getting older. The real world is getting bigger and bigger for them. Alumni will retire when the real world is more important, for sure.

Well they have 2-3 GSTs to try before we get a cemented "legacy" or sorts when we're finished. So you can try to rally them all and I'd put money on them still losing.
