You are so wrong with that statement. One, we had staff that were younger than 18. Two, Not all were recommended. And three, Lavaclaw was an example that he was a PR and wasn't friends with any staff member.

well, eh, nowadays it'd seem like it xD with some exceptions, anywhos.

A majority is in the favoritism. Always has, always is, always will be. Nothing really to complain about though. Sadly, that's how real life works. You gotta get used to it.

I don't get why so many players want to be a PR. I don't think that they realize all the work that is included with it.

Example of a person who would take the actual work part seriously: me. If only I could figure out a way to get selected without acting like an idiot(which has already been proved to be the way people try to get hired)... Ever notice how easy it is to notice people don't take the job seriously when you're the exact opposite ? :/

SNK FOR PR!

No, no, no, no! All wrong! It's:

PLAYER FOR PLAYER RELATIONS!

Rexx 07-30-2012 08:48 AM

Hire me so I can spam broadcasts with obscenities.

It is actually fair. Everyone has a chance at becoming a Player Relations member. You just have to work hard and know stuff. Also you would have to help players out without the want to become a staff member. Chances are, none of the people who stand in start (most, if not all, with bad grammar which is a big thing you need) and say "Answering questions!" will never get hired (unless they change how they act for another hiring).

Xertic was was pretty much unknown. The way he did get known, was through his graphics. He produced amazing graphics and also posted them on the forums.

What I'm getting at, is that there have been and still will be numerous unknown people who get hired. It's not about who you know of if you got hired because you're friends with a staff member.

You just have to 'put yourself out there'. If you have talents that would be worthy for getting hired, put it out there that you can do it and show your stuff.
The only ones that will get hired will be those who strive for the best and put out their talents. Don't just wait until you see that we're hiring.
Why would we hire someone that only does a certain thing only when they here they can be hired?

I don't get why people actually think they'll become a staff member of Era iPhone - or any other server - when they only act like they'd be 'perfect' for the job when they here that they are hiring.
If you actually want to be a staff member, you'd try more and do they thing you want to be hired for 24/7, not just when you see they are hiring.

Sorry if some things in here may be unclear or has bad grammar here and there. I'm typing from my iPod right now and it's harder to reread the entire post. This is also quickly typed up.

You can't just go through life expecting things to happen for you if you don't practice. In this case, practicing would be helping others before you here about the hiring of Player Relations.

Thanks for reading this 'long post'.

Let's go through people who were all unknown, but became a staff member for Era iPhone.

Chaotic - Really, no one knew him. He put out his graphics on the forums and got recognized for it.

Lavaclaw - He was pretty much, unknown. He showed great maturity and was very helpful to the Era iPhone community.

North Carolina John (NCJohn) - He was also pretty much unknown to the public and just pretty much unknown in general. He was helpful on the forums to people who had problems in-game. He has great maturity and grammar. He helped many people on these forums - he earned his way to the position.

Loki - He was unknown to the community. He made really good graphics and with that, he got hired.

Xertic - He was pretty much unknown. The way he did get known, was through his graphics. He produced amazing graphics and also posted them on the forums.

Marker (Me) - I, too, was pretty much unknown. I was, in a way well-known to the public. But that's because I pretty much helped people on the forums (here and there). People read my posts and if they saw me in-game would sometimes say 'hi'.

There are definitely more staff who were unknown, these are just some I thought of right now.

What I'm getting here is that you have to do something totally unrelated to the job to be hired like GFX or scripts and junk. And btw if you get the job by posting stuff like that then you aren't unknown -_-

Chaotic was in Eos (Jatz's Gang) and was well known to a lot of people within the Lapse and Eos community. Which as we know is extensive. Plus Jats liked him and was a PRA, so I am sure he put in the good word.

Same with Lava.

NCJ was well known from week 1

Loki was well known way before iEra came out on classic. It just transferred over to here.

You were plenty well known and you know it. You even took up the title "Era's doggy" as everyone knew you for your look. You to were in Eos/Lapse alliance family thing.

I disagree with your examples.

It's not how many people you know, but who you know. That is how the real world is as well, get used to it kiddos
