Honestly, most other big MOBA's are extremely easy compared to DoTA. There is a reason pro League players are generally bad at DoTA, while pro DoTA players can get the hang of league quite easily, yes, League has a couple strategic differences that DoTA does not have, but it lacks sorely compared to DoTA. Turnrate, Int Str Agi, Runes, two types of wards, and so many others.

Incoming hate in three... two... one...

Well, that and Dota's overall meta is much more complex. Each hero can be used in many different positions/roles and your item builds are extremely flexible, even at the highest tiers. Faceless Void solo offlane sounds like complete madness but pro teams ran it during TI4. Another example is the 4x null talisman + blademail furion, a classic "lol wut" moment for me.

Dota 2 sucks compared to smite.

Smite is just League with a different viewpoint, honestly, Smite is more casual then League, it has future on consoles, that is all I see.

Let me rephrase that. I like the different view.

The only game I like with the view of Dota is Magika.

I wanted to start playing one but couldn't decide.

And,if i chose one:

1.Can i challenge peeps that are in my friend list? (if there is any).
2.Can we even selective challenge?
3.Can we challenge peeps that have a different server than us (NA,EU,Asia etc etc)

And the most important:

4.Is it even worth the time?

dota lets you create lobbies so you can basically do whatever the **** you want

1. Yes, I'm not sure about in League, but in DoTA you can 1v1 players in a queue, aswell as from your friends list.
2. Yes, you can set up games through the menu with your friends, as well as spectate games of your friends.
3. Yes, you can, although it may be a bit more laggy, the game client is the same client for all regions, but you select the regions your searching for when you queue up.
4. It really depends, if you have the time I think so, but if you don't you'll just be wasting a whole lot more time then you thought you would, "one more match" kind of thing.

I'd play dota, but none of the heroes appeal to me and the fact that you can't select the same hero as someone else in the same game is something I especially hate.

Not playing a game because you're not getting items is not a reason to not play a great game. That aside, drops were fixed ages ago, I got a whole Shadow Shaman set like yesterday, and the drop before that the hour before.

Seriously though, is there any way to guarantee you get to play the hero you want? Like picking a hero then having a match found for you where you can play as that hero? If not hopefully that will be in this "DotA 2: Reborn" update alongside all the other improvements, though Reborn might only be updates that bring in only stuff that show off what Source 2 can do for the game.
