They're good, though competitive seems to have a set pool of Pokemon that are always used with not that much variation in team comps compared to the other games, but you probably don't care too much about competitive. In-game, they're still fun and worth playing, and it doesn't feel as much of a grind as the previous generations. Black 2 and White 2 are pretty much identical except on certain routes there are different Pokemon available at different times. That, and Black 2 has access to Kyurem-B and White 2 has Kyurem-W

Black and White (2) are close to their ending points with the arrival of X and Y. Actually they might live on seeing as not everyone has a 3DS, but if you can I'd suggest moving on a Gen.

Oh and I think I might get white 2. I read some reviews and talked to friends, they all like it. Plus I like the sheer amount of pokemon in the game.

You haven't heard? The new AC has been announced in NA for months. It came out in Japan last year. It comes out in Europe and NA on June 9th.
