I feel like Elfen Lied (pronounced Leed) is a must watch for whoever hasn't seen it.

I watched Elfen Lied before I was even in to anime.

The gore didn't bother me one bit, but the story never caught on with me.

k, I just finished Mayo Chiki and I'm now watching Sankarea and Maid Sama.. anyone heard of those?

edit:

lol I bought Toradora (all the volumes) on Amazon. 60$ (doesn't include shipping fees)... totally worth it lol. I just hope it's in English or I will be seriously screwedddddddddddddddddddddddddd (unless if I learn how to speak Japanese)

no lol. I only started watching anime this year. I hated it before and thought everyone who read manga was weird. I guess I'm weird now :sarcastic:

Ahh lol. I'm just curious because on this forum and in my school it's a big thing. I'm just the one who sits back wondering what in the fu** these kids are talking about sometimes.

Idk. I guess I'll watch one and see if I like it or not.

Gimme links of where2start mates.

Hey Shiz since you're starting here's some titles I'd recommend to you.

Attack on Titan (Must see ^.^)
Sword Art Online
Buccano
Watamote
And Black Lagoon.

These titles should help you figure out what genre you like.

Enjoy!

I loved Sankarea, even bought the manga for it. Maid-sama was a pretty good series, but not one of my favorable ones.

Often when starting to watch anime, people go for the more popular ones to start, and the most talked about anime these days is of course;
Attack on Titan or in Japanese Shingeki no Kyojin.

Although if you're not a big fan of Gore and just gruesome killing, you should then watch the popular series of 2012, Sword Art Online.

For me I started with the somewhat popular anime, but more popular game, Fate/Zero. Only problem with this series is that it's quite confusing in the first episode if you don't get the main concept of the story, but if you keep watching after the first few episodes, this series gets really good.

I'm one who watches anime romcoms often but I just didn't watch toradora because I didn't really like how the characters were drawn. idk, just not me.

Yeah I have to say I agree I thought the story was pretty poor and I actually view it as one of the bad animes I have watched.

Anyways I haven't seen anyone post "Heavens Lost Property" (dont know japanese name).

It's one of those easy to watch, funny amines, and it actually has some good content to keep you busy for awhile. (2 , 13 episode seasons, and two movies). Its perverse, it has action, it has deep higher purpose themes about god and the new world and such, and its just pretty entertaining to keep you busy for awhile. The story probably won't stick with you as its more lighthearted, but its entertaining if you just wanna watch without thinking the whole time haha.

Kyoukai no Kanata / Beyond the Boundary has yet to fail as a gateway anime for my un-likeminded friends.
