Depends, what kind of series you want?
Some crazy Action? Tear jerking drama? Heart-throbbing romance? Suspense riddled thrillers? Side-splitting comedy? or A nice slow fun and cute slice of life? |
wtf obviously action

Let's name some of the most common action series used to introduced new watchers. We have Sword Art Online, one of the most successful series to get people into anime. Has an amazing first episode that will automatically grab the attention of most people. It does a decent job throughout the rest of the series and is a great start to get people into anime. A series that will get you hook, but does not outshine all other anime, allowing you a chance to "taste" the other varieties. Second season is airing right now. Another good gate-way anime is the super famous, Attack on Titan. For those action lovers, it has amazing animation and beautiful art style and watching the fights are breath taking. However if you are not into blood, you might want to save this for later and start with the above series. Also having a good hook on the first episodes, really satisfies many action lovers. Off course some people will say, don't give the mainstream ones, but the mainstream anime does it job to introduce anime and allow the viewer to further expand the amount of anime to watch. That said the above series are not the best in my opinion, but certainly does it job. Few sites to watch the above series: Crunchyroll, legal site, but has ads and you need premium membership for HD and removal of ads. http://www.crunchyroll.com/sword-art-online http://www.crunchyroll.com/attack-on-titan Site I use most often: http://www.animerush.tv/anime/sword-art-online/ http://www.animerush.tv/anime/shingeki-no-kyojin/ For English dub sites, well I don't watch it in English dub, so you have to find it on your own, which I think Netflix has. I recommend watching it in English sub with Japanese voicing, but that's your choice. |
thanks for the suggestions

Just realized I just told you why they are good and nothing about the series itself :P Well here is the synopsis:
Sword Art Online: In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies using a piece of technology called Nerve Gear. One day, players discover they cannot log out, as the game creator is holding them captive unless they reach the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life. Their struggle for survival starts now... Attack on Titan: Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller titans flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single titan and take revenge for all of mankind. |
Just wondering... Is Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma an OVA of Fate/Stay Night or something?

Btw Killua, most people who are new to anime usually thinks people being eaten by giants is ******ed so AoT might not be good for beginners :p

2. It's not the same as Stay Night or Zero. More of a childish series with a magical girl sense. Doesn't keep the whole holy grail death game. |
Right im back home now and have managed to catch up on some of the new seasons shows and here is what i have to think
Tokyo Ghouls- oh my sweet baby jesus that opening is amazing, animation is also very slick while the music is great, the characters and overall story is leave promise for a show that could be something special Zankyou No Terror- Watanabe you have done it again. This first episdoe was one of the best ive ever seen and again THAT OP (seems like summer has alot of good OP's) Space Dandy S2- best episode of space dandy, Emo Dandy and Titan Dandy are the best things ive seen all year Sword Art Online II- Solid start, didnt really expect any 360 no scopes in the first episode but again another great opening Anyways these are the only new shows i had a chance to catch up on. Need to watch Akame no Kill, Aldnoah.Zero, Rail wars and Sailor Moon. Although i did catch up on JoJo (OH NOOOOOOOO) and Captain Earth |

What type of art style does Captain Earth use? Is it some beautiful looking Hunter X Hunter or the Fate series art style?

Twist a few lines there and you got yourself a pentagram. Glassip = Satan
ahaha anyway.. Zankyou no Terror was the best first episode of the season, even though it was like the last to air. That snowmobile scene with the 1st person POV. |
I watched 49 seconds of Tokyo Ghoul and then chickened out. Pretty much just got to the part where she said, "I'm not finished eating."
|
Well Gore isn't for everyone.
Zankyou no Terror first Ep. was really well done and contest with Tokyo Ghoul's first Ep. Nothing starts a series better with people exploding buildings and not knowing their motives yet. |
Finished Tari Tari, very good anime, but right now I am having that void feeling, emptiness from completing an anime, a feeling of wanting more to fill in that gap. Not wanting the adventure between the characters end. After all the anime I've watched, I don't get those feelings as much anymore. Tari Tari, good drama, might not be unique, but really good at conveying their emotions to me, and that is what in my opinion, a good anime should be able to do. 9/10 PA Works, I am now a big fan, don't disappoint me with Glasslip.

the site you normally use buffers too much on my pc

Of course, can't forget the three that I've finished from them; The Eccentric Family, Angel Beats (Can't stress how overrated the anime is), Nagi no Asukara Haven't watched Zankyou no Terror yet, really excited for it. Quote:

Muscle through it. The show isn't even that bad since 50% of it is mostly just the the main character crying like a little ****. (For now) |

In other news, Sword Art Online II is already rated a 8.02 by 10,349 users on MyAnimeList when there is only one episode released. I don't know how so many people can rate that anime based on the first introductory episode. |

Then you and the main character have something in common. Watch it. |

Which site do you use to stream? |
Only for people that can't see vid: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvpkHTISx1k I feel bad for the people not experiencing this in HD. |
KissAnime streams videos imbedded in a youtube frame, so you can select your quality. 720p and 1080p are mostly available for recent series. You can also choose your resolution and format (mp4, flv) to download. However, yesterday, almost all of their older videos are broken, and the site says itll take a month+ to fix. ;-; Which means ill have to do streaming from other sites for awhile.
And yes, its ridiculous how that many people have already rated SAO II that high. I dont rate stuff until the last few episodes. |
Damn all these Tokyo themed series that seems very promising this season. Tokyo Ghoul, Terror in Tokyo and now Tokyo ESP.
The most random first episode of Summer 2014 goes to Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? Like really let me sum up the first episode. Guy is moving to a dorm for high school due to his father's job. He seems to be good a baseball, but decided to join a knitting club in order to learn to knit for someone. He works at a little digging place area I have no idea what it's called. He fell in a hole which he meets this unknown beauty. Now in order not to cause his father inconvenience, he found an apartment that only costs 5000 yen a month (Around $50 USD), but it turns out to be haunted by a cute purple hair girl who wants to kill him, then a "Mahou Shoujo"(Magical Girl) comes flying into his room, then from under his tatami mat comes some underground dweller beauty, then an princess alien loli I don't even know anymore transports to his room and they all fight for that one tiny 6x6 room. Then the normal human girl land lady comes in and uses her iron fist of justice to end the fight and make them sign a contract. THE END http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...spring-of-2014 No Game No Life didn't make top ten. |
One Week Friends made it but not No Game No Life...

Well Kissanime provides 720p streaming.
It's hella fast and you don't need super HD to watch anime... Unless you just really want that. |
Damn this week's episode of SAO II... Epic but just one thing... Kirito should just log on already...
|
Lmao.
Haven't watched this week's episode yet, But I can guess what that may mean. |
