Lately ive seen Graalians steal copyrighted heads and call it sharing lol, this is sorta whats going on with hats. COPYRIGHTED GRAPHICS ARE TAKING OVER GRAAL EVERYONE FLUD THIS THREAD WITH CUSTOM HATS TO UPLOAD SO WE CAN SAVE GRAAL FROM GETTING SUED! lol

It's pretty much impossible to completely prevent copyrighted works like described in the OP from getting uploaded unless the uploader has seen it before. Most are familiar with Nintendo and other popular characters but sprites from games like Maplestory are a lot harder to catch.

I personally wouldn't have known the flower was ripped from Maplestory and I've actually played the game.

So if you notice copyright-infringing graphics report the person, take a screen-shot and email it to the Classic's (or Era's if that's where you notice it on) support email and it will be handled appropriately.

If it's not directly ripped, then there's really nothing wrong with it. For example, using Link's head directly ripped from Link to the Past or Minish Cap would be a big no no, however a head with blonde hair and a green cap is fine(in fact one of the default heads is exactly this).

I mean, feel free to report stolen stuff, or things you even suspect is stolen if you can provide proof to the staff(to make their job easier). Otherwise just calling stuff stolen with vague claims and no proof is just going to waste staff time trying to find out exactly where it's from, if it's even violating a copyright.

(Also, players don't really copyright heads when they upload them. Apparently when your graphics go on Graal it's owned by Graal, giving other players right to edit and use them. It sucks, but you can't claim "copyright" just because another player is using an edited version of your head. However, most staff don't tolerate this, so feel free to report it. Just don't report it as copyright infringement. Actually, the technicality of copyright and such with uploaded graphics is... complex to say the least. All I'm saying is don't report players/graphics because of copyright, as you should reserve copyright reports for more important things like stealing graphics from other games, not because someone is using your head.)

Well guys, its up to you. Either we email classic staff to remove the hats, or ultimately screw over the game we play by emailing nexon, etc. It's up to you guys, I honestly don't care.

Also, those are barely as obvious as the flower one. The flower is a direct copy + paste, lol.

If you look at the pictures, the image is obviously supposed to look like the graphics, but wasn't stolen. You can't just copy and paste an image onto a hat template. You need the various dimensions. Although, I must say it is an amazing reconstruction. Well done to whoever did it.

The halo isn't specifically owned by Maple Story, and in many games there are items that resemble this. It's not like Maplestory is the sole owner of golden glowing Halos.
