Making money doing what you love > not making money doing what you love.

That makes sense, in theory.

In reality, money comes with the unfortunate cost of setting expectations.

When there is no money involved, you can just develop at your own pace, without much stress or demands.

Once money gets involved, there become demands, expectations, pressures, etc. that can ruin your 'hobby' and make it stressful instead of enjoyable.

Haha god damnit..I suggested an incentive. The amount of work and time you put in is up to you! The more you do the more you get. If you sit around not doing anything nothing happens.

Hadi 07-25-2014 10:25 PM

lolol they dont need an incentive

Yeah volunteer work is generally done for less fortunate people by more fortunate people. I'm pretty sure Stefans doing just fine.

Dem, why are you still speaking? lmao

The whole thing I dislike about this entire topic is the fact that Stefan has set up this manipulative system in order to suck people into wanting to work for him for free, he literally has built this online slave plantation that produces loads of cash without him having to pay a single worker.

Whether staff are fine with it being volunteer or not, it is immoral to willingly take advantage of people like that in my eyes. I happen to have a large salary, and if I need some labor done by some kids/friends- I will pay them even though they would gladly do it for free. It is part of being a man- rewarding people for working under you, whether it be a small wage or a fair salary.

laughing so much more now, thanks Ken.

Yes, I have understood Graal in-depth for many years now. But I am not interested in debating this topic with you because your lack of debate skills. I can say my 2 cents and you can say yours.

Stefan doesn't suck anyone into helping him, if all he's helping them gain experience in team development and game development that they can use in the future, most of these kids aren't even of legal age nor do they have a degree to work as part of a real game development company so paying them would be pretty hard seeing as you would have to go through the whole process of verifying it is them etc and things like birth certificate/sin numbers because they would have to be registered employees under Eurocenter Games.

There's my two cents.

I am just surprised about the support that the two owners of Graal actually receive from members. It is designed to make them pay as much real world cash as possible to enjoy the game properly and the fact that people they do not even know have pretty much been building their games for years, without any reward, it doesn't neccessarily build up respect in my heart for them.

Enjoy the game properly? None of the activities like player killing/towering/spar require you to spend real money lmao.
