Because I like Rand Paul a little more because I'm a Libertarian. I might vote for Trump over him though because Rand isn't winning in the polls and my vote might be wasted if I do.

Wow.

You must really care about your vote if you think it's being wasted on the candidate that YOU want to vote for.

Actually this makes sense in a way. I'd also identify as a libertarian, but I'm not going to vote in a party that has no chance of winning a presidential election. I'd much rather vote for one of the primary 2 candidates that have a chance to win, because currently voting anything other than Republican or Democrat in the general election is virtually a wasted vote. Libertarian-ism is gaining popularity, however, and I hope to see some real contenders from the party in the future.

If I am voting for a person I KNOW won't win and is only getting 1% of the votes in the polls, then I am throwing my vote.

Why put your vote in someone who is going to loose without a question? I much rather pick one that I can deal with that is an actual contender.

This way, my vote is counting.

5hift 09-19-2015 03:03 AM

Your vote will always court because it's YOUR vote and you use it for the person who you think will benefit this country the most.

Don't be some wimpy defeatist who just jumps on the winning side's bandwagon.

This isn't what a democracy is.

I'm no "wimpy defeatist."

I want someone that I can deal with have the chance to be president.

When someone is DEFINITELY SOOOOO behind in the polls, no matter if I like him or not, it WON'T MAKE HIM WIN BY VOTING FOR HIM.

And no, even if everyone who doesn't vote for him because of this voted for him, he still wouldn't win. It's the sad truth.

I'm jumping no bandwagon. I want to have someone I can deal with out of the people who are destined to win. It is making your vote count more.

If I vote for someone I like that has more of a chance, I'm helping fight AGAINST the candidates I DON'T like.

If I vote for the people who don't have a chance I'm HELPING the popular candidate I don't like
Just listen what I say. You say such strong words without even thinking more about it.

5hift 09-19-2015 04:31 AM

So you basically admit to what I just said.

Brilliant.

See, this is probably why Trump might end up becoming pres in 2016.

Well, when he does, just remember that you voted for him and everything that happens from there is partially on you.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm digging a 50 meter deep bomb shelter for me and my waifu. Call me when the the nukes run out.

You are relentless. Drink some PMS tea or something. I'm going to stop responding to you and be the smarter one. And no, you are wrong. Also, I may just vote for Rand Paul anyway. It is just an internal conflict of mine that I have to straighten out before I vote on election day.

May I ask for who you are going to vote for? Or will you not even be able to vote yet?

Thats not how our government works either. We dont have a direct democracy for every issue. So "blame the other party" for electing that person makes no sense.

5hift 09-19-2015 05:48 AM

Oh please.

If you're going to pretend this is like voting for your class president and whoever is most popular gets the job, you might as well forget voting.

I for one can't vote yet but FFS what the hell is the point even voting if you're not going to vote for the candidate you want to win?

Go ahead and call me whatever you want. I'm just standing up for what I think is right.

This election is a ***ing joke anyways.

The problem is:

Say I want to vote for Ralph Nader or something. If I cast my vote for Ralph Nader, I'll be one of about 47 total people who ever voted for the guy. The guy clearly won't win, so why the hell did I even vote?

INSTEAD

Oh, look. Candidate A has similar views to Nader, and Candidate A and B are easily going to be the top 2 candidates. Instead of throwing my vote in the garbage, I'll vote for Candidate A to make an impact on the election and still get generally what I would want from this candidate.

If you're going into elections voting for people that are only going to get .0003% of the votes you should probably spend your time doing something else because what you'd be doing at that moment is pretty pointless.

5hift 09-19-2015 05:57 AM

Your vote is garbage if you treat it like ****ing garbage.

If you want to support the person who appeals to you the most then by all means go ahead and do it.

Nobody is ****ing stopping you, this is your right as an American.

But if you just want to bandwagon with the "winning" side then your vote truly doesn't matter because in the end you don't even care about who you're voting for, you just want to be apart of something.

Stop treating your vote like some chore you have to do every couple of years.

I'm not trying to stop anyone from throwing their vote away, nobody here is. People have every right to do so. But that is what they're doing. Aside, voting is a duty, not a chore. Aside #2, what matters in an election is NOT your personal feelings of who you voted for/how you feel about that outcome. The purpose of an election is not to spurn feelings in the voter. The purpose of an election is to decide upon a leader that can better the United States. Nobody cares how you feel about it. It happens. If somebody refuses to vote or votes for some bull**** candidate with no chance of winning they don't have any right to utter a word of complaint about the new presidency until the next election, because they did absolutely nothing significant to try and change it.

Voting for a candidate who actually has a chance with similar views to your favorite candidate isn't bandwagoning, it's actually making a difference in the election. When you become eligible to vote, whenever that may be, I PRAY that you start to mature and realize this, as this is a pretty big problem with the nation anyway as of current.

If people want to run around and vote for Deez Nuts, nobody is stopping them. But there isn't even an argument as to how doing this type of **** is an intelligent decision by any means.

If trump became president, I would probably change my plan on not moving to america, nor going to america.

Brick 09-19-2015 07:34 AM

People act as if Trump becoming president would be the worst thing this world has ever seen, when in reality it would be a pretty minor issue. Sure, he might do a few things people will disagree with. Every president does. But he wouldn't have absolute power, as some seem to believe. It's a democracy, not a dictatorship. This isn't the second coming of Hitler. There have been worse presidents.
