How about a haunted house maze for a prize? The maze inside the house change every time you enter.

That would have been cool, I liked the maze at deadwood for the skeleton morph. Don't remember why that was closed (maybe a limited item)

One way you could've kept people busy is making one very expensive item (for example the custom bow). You could sell it for lets say 350 candy. That way you keep both the casual players busy with regular trick or treating and the real try hards could have something to collect for.

If the job is done correctly, then why would you be worried about exploits?

That's not how exploits work.

Am I the only one who can't connect to the server on any devices right now?

I have a few ideas. Not sure how well they would work out.
First of all, keep the pumpking and goblins. Tweak them if needed, but I think they're good additions.
Three places that I noticed are void of ghosts (or anything Halloween related) are Snowtown, Big City, and the railroads. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but having content in these areas could reduce the number of people crowding around the rest of the overworld.
Crab chance could possibly give out different prizes for different holidays. For Halloween the big prizes could be a couple of the hats you would normally get from trick-or-treaters and the gralat prizes could be replaced by some pieces of candy.
You could be able to find candy from looting, killing baddies, or maybe digging (although the drops could be rare since that would be really easy to get).
For some new, Halloween-exclusive baddies there could be zombies/skeletons that rise out of the ground in some areas. A headless horseman npc could appear in parts of the map and give out a unique, spooky item. Maybe his jack-o-lantern head? Who knows?

All sounds awesome.

Actually, this was the old 'xol's pub' toilet maze from a decade ago. It was nice to see it again, though :)

Point is, it was a maze and it was fun.

How about actually playing instead of just AFKing and hoping candy falls into your lap?

How about asking the people who play the game about what they would want, opposed to just sitting there watching the game and implementing stuff that more people complain about than they do praise. Yes, broadcasting a global message asking people to submit feedback is an ineffective form communication. Possibly sending out a global message with one of those surveys like we received last week or creating a thread listing all of your'e ideas regarding what should be implemented in the upcoming halloween event could be result in a more enjoyable game. The graphics you (the admins) have added look pretty good, like the slide in onnet. Why is the lighting effect non-optional?

All right guys, that's enough, they get it. You arrived a little too late to post that. Mistakes were made, it's over, no need to keep going.

If you are going to criticize, then at least help them with your ideas. They at least tried, which was good enough. I mean, they could have not done anything for halloween...? That would have been worse.

@all No more criticizing. Just provide ideas from now on, yeah?

Right now you should all be thinking hard on what can be done for Thanksgiving, before it's too late.

Ivy 10-29-2015 12:22 PM

That's If they decide to celebrate thanksgiving.
Even so, it is not a major holiday.

You're a clueless dolt.

I'm assuming the reason they brought back this type of trick or treating was because last year a number of people complained about the system and wanted the candy ghosts and old trick or treating system back.

There's always going to be people who complain, no matter what (like you).

I for one am really enjoying this Graaloween. Especially now that I've sort of figured out how everything works and how to best collect candy and best utilize it. I'm having tons of fun. I liked last year's system, but I'm actually finding this year's to be a lot more fun.

I hope the devs know that for every one whiny little bitch like you, there are a hundred more who aren't complaining and who are enjoying the event.

Edit - There's one thing I saw mentioned in this thread that I agree with. I think ghosts (as well as trick or treaters and maybe goblins) should spawn in York town, snowtown, and (maybe) the railroad caves & big city. It seems like York town and snowtown are being phased out, and I don't really get why. Given the ever-growing player population, it would make sense to me for the map to keep growing, and to have reasons for people to go to these ghost towns (no pun intended). It would help spread people out more. This would be my one suggestion.

Trick or treaters are in York town, some with goblins and ghosts. I have seen them first hand, they just aren't quite as common is what it looks like. Not that they changed the spawn rate, its actually that York is kinda small. Not too many bushes around for goblins to spawn from, and most of the ghosts appear on the race track, not York town proper. The trick of treaters have appeared in front of the hat shop, I can't be certain about anywhere else, but im sure they have
Appeared elsewhere
