I think he stepped down cause he was offline for like 12+ days on the admin account and when I searched him, only his player account was available.

I am no longer in the staff team

Admins should be mature and have experience with game mechanics.
Not experience with social guilds and roleplay, that means very little.

But who is to say that social guilds = not acceptable experience? They need people who know how to work with others and deal with players, not just someone who can spar...

There's more problems that GPs have to deal with than just spar related problems. I think the GPA/Xor should decide who is suitable as an admin tbh.

By that logic you're basically saying they need to deal with other players, which is already a given attribute when being police in the first place. Might as well let the hackers reign free.

me 4 admin again

The logic is that GPs deal with all types of players and game mechanics so they should not have to be experienced in a specific field, more so just be familiar with them.

Anyway, it wasn't about inexperienced GPs, there was just nobody on.

bloody spar threads man...

I see where you're coming from, but at the same time, it's much easier for someone to fool a staff who is "familiar" with spar by speeding in a small increment than it is to fool a staff into thinking they weren't asking for nudes. I think in terms of spar and towering, more knowledge of game mechanics is needed than in reports of harassment, so that speed isn't attributed to things like lag or a "fast cpu". That lack of knowledge is what the people who do speed count on to continue doing so. This isn't to say that all staff should be experts on mechanics like this, but it's good to have some who can spot speeding at 5 or 10 percent when it happens. Or just automate a speed detection system, though that hasn't been done for other reasons.

Plus it isn't hard to tell when someone is soliciting underaged pictures.

I don't think that lack of knowledge is the problem at all in this case, any player that has played the game for a while and moved his character around knows the normal speed that other players should be moving. The game is just in desperate need of more staff members, active ones.

I will be quoting what Dusty once said.

"The problem with this is who is really trained to be able to see a difference in speed of 110%? Player speed is .6 tiles/second. 110% of that is .66 tiles/second. I'm not saying it's impossible for someone to notice this by eye, but how reliable can a GP be in those regards? More importantly, such a thing would come down to the GP's opinion on whether or not they think they're moving at .6 tiles/sec or .66 tiles/sec... that's a lot of faith to put into someone to make sure they're making the right call every time.

If anything GPs need to have better tools to help detect this stuff(not automatically deal with them), not purely relying on the GP being able to spot such minor differences.

I'm not disagreeing that maybe sparring needs different moderation. It's a very competitive part of the game, I just don't think "we need better GPs" is really the answer people think it will be on its own."

I agree that better tools to detect it is the best option but from what I've been told by others, that's a good ways off as far as server lag goes, especially in recent days. I'm moreso discussing a way to stop the bleeding until a more permanent solution is found.
