I agree, if the ban times are going to be long, at least make them consistent therefor making them fair.

Yeah the ban system is bit strange. two people who was offmap yesterday they both got banned one got 9hrs the other got week ban even that they was in same place etc(what ive been told) both banned by newish gp.

The ban system should be that staff can only have option of the ban like:
-Offmap
-hacking
-glitching
-blocking
-etc and all the options have a set time for ban and also if the system could some how check if they have been banned in last week that it could increase to time of being banned then be reset to default time of ban after certain time. Hopefully you get what I mean I didn't know how to explain it well.

Okay, so neither have been banned before, finally have his official response.

Just a suggestion but maybe add a new record system where it shows all the bans and warns you've ever got.

For example on the profile card, it'll show this:

Warnings/Bans: 3

and when you click on it, you can scroll from top to bottom and it'll show all your warnings and bans like this:

Type: Ban
Reason: Harassing
Hours: 24

Its like a notifier for all the warns and bans you've got in the past. This could be helpful in most ways to the ban/warn system we currently have

I like that, it could go well both ways, for the player and staff.
If it is a staff member looking, they could even see who did it.

I created the ban system with preset ban times but there are other considerations:

Has the player been banned before? Similar act or different? multiple times? How far between bannings? (recent or very far apart)
If banning two players for being offmap, do you ban the guy who called you a **** for slightly longer than the guy who said nothing?
Was the player doing it intentionally to attract staff to harass them?
Were they stupid enough to try logging off, thinking that would somehow prevent you from banning them? (not worth additional time but just hilarious)

Being too preset is not a good system. I provided the baseline and staff can go from there as per the instructions in the GP manual.

Because it's an internal procedure to be followed and as such, does not need to be provided to players?

I get that point, but without players knowing it how do we know if a staff member is following the procedures correctly? How do we know if a gps actions were right if we can't see the procedure they are supposed to follow? How do we know what they can and can't ban for?

Players would have to chase up with the GPs via [email protected] I'd say. Perhaps suggest a updated list of rules and approximate punishment in GP/Court house?

I've already suggested a idea like that multiple times for the info kiosk. For some reason it's still not been added.

It works but it's transparent to the user.

I always take the ban complaints with a grain of salt as players rarely tell the true scope of what happened. If you have issues with a particular sentence, raise it with [email protected] . If unsatisfied, raise with Xor.
