you have any idea how insulting it is to go and announce winners, get someones hope of redemption up, and then go and realize that the person looking over applications made a mistake, and instead of punishing the person who made a mistake, you go and dont hire someone whom you already promised to?

I have to agree with Higbey, can't believe that I am but he's right. If you promised him a spot as a "Zone Patrol", and he didn't annoy anyone of you nor did any bad stuff or was his behaviour wasn't mature, you should give him the spot.
And as Hig said, Matt is the one to be blamed in this case. Either you punish Matt now, or you just ignore this and give the spot to whom you promised it, otherwise you would male yourself look bad, looking even worse after many people(and me) didn't like iZone, and of course this would be only fair.. what a bummer humans do sometimes.

It wasn't really a mistake in the application, more that the application never existed and it was a misunderstanding. But it's fixed now anyway, so a huge drama isn't really needed.

I understand it makes you look better but at least give people another chance. There are a lot more people out there than just "recycled" PR's.

So what if he's a total douche? Many admins are douches too but on theccount they try to be nice. And your actings doesn't affect your application unless you got banned a lot, but even that is no legit reason to not hire someone. I know a lot of people who eiter were total ******s, douches, or people who got banned almost every day, and guess what. They were better admins than people who were nice and mature all the time, really.. you just have no knownledge at all.

Of course it is, such a disaster.. Matt should bear the blame and let Poetic/MattKan (sorry if I didn't spell it correctly) show the chat logs, so everyone could make his mind up again, which would be on Poetics side I bet since he doesn't want Peotic to show those.

It's kind of sad, not even that the game wasn't as good and funny as many people wanted it to be and/or expected it to be. And now this? Get real, and start to be serious. Of course, noone's perfect, but you should admit your faults instead of trying to cover something..

I missed this news because I was with family that one day.

Also, It's funny to see how much of a riot is going on over hirings. Just saying but is like the way everyone acts so helpful during hiring season. People SAY they aren't that excited over hirings but then have a 5 page flame war lol.

I never applied or wished to apply, if you know me it's obvious what I'm saying has nothing to do with sourgrapes or favoritism or some sort of vendetta, or whatever I'm being accuses of.

I don't think James will want a person like him working on the server when he sees how he reacts when he makes a mistake. He lashes out and blames others, and well, when the logs are posted you'll see.
This isn't a flame war, this is a serous case, and needs to be known and taken care of if zone cares about how they look at all.

The root of the problem is that i let my Asst give me a recommendation (I should be able to trust the words of my partner.) but when the the recommendation was chosen to be hired, it came about that he did not apply the same way as everyone else, which is considered favoritism and that i cannot allow. Extremely unfair for everyone else. This is nobody's fault except for a member(s) of the team. We sincerely apologize for the confusion. The candidate also replied with "How did i get hired if i didn't even apply?".The problem is not that serious, and will be dealt with if needed. Questions, comments and concerned should goto myself or jwd.

you are digging yourself into a deeper hole, you didnt check if he applied, yet you still announced he was hired? recommendation doesnt mean entirely base your decision on it, you didnt even check if he applied, thats your fault. its not favoritism, its you failing to cover your own sorry ass.
