Any tips for playing recon guys?

Motion Balls for carbine play and PLD for sniping unless you have a range finder on your rifle. Second equipment is your choice. If you're using the motion ball setup, I'd suggest a suppresor. Use your balls to find out the enemy position (roughly) and flank them. With the PLD just snipe as usual. Run with the shorty with full choke and RDS as your secondary and use that when you're not sniping. Sums it up.

Take advantage of the fact that spawn beacons can sometimes parachute you. Use this to get onto buildings and place spawn zones for your team to spawn on.
You gotta live the tugs life if your sniping. Otherwise your going to get knifed by someone you had no clue was there or get c4 in you face.
Best perk is spec ops, screw the sniper perk, while using spec ops the first level is stealth so you can only be spotted by motion sensors while sprinting. Very very helpful for flanking.
Motion balls as cat said are your friends. But they are also your enieme. Motion balls produce this loud clank noise and its very easy to hear and people will know that theres some one infiltrating.
ALWAYS have and use the spawn beacon, especially on rush. One spawn beacon behind enimes lines or near the objective and a squad spawns on it can can mass cahos among the enimey team.
Do NOT snipe on top of skyscrapers. Unless you are very very good at long range snipers. Dont do this, the odds are that you will end up spending most your time missing or getting hitmarkers and someone (especially on op dawnbreaker) will snipe you from another building top. Also, your doing nothing for the team

Last advice, use this for all classes.
SPOT SPOT SPOT
Spot the crap out of people, if There at a range spot them, they will appear on the minimap for a while and have a doritios chip over there heads. Spot all vehicles, these are crucial if you have air vehicles. This way they can target the threat and airstrike them. This also tells engis where the tank is and go blow it up and tells everyone else stay away from that area.

When sniping from a high place go somewhere where you can only get to via aircraft, that way you can stay up in your spot longer and have less worries about people trying to kill you.

Depends on the map. Like flood zone rush, that rooftop on the huge building is great. Slap a spawn beacon up there and snipe from it during the 3rd set of mcoms. You get a whole view of the roof of the parking building where B is.
Im mostley against sniping from places via aircraft only since they just are not that great and its just a waste of time and your doing nothing to help the team.

I LOVE killing the snipers on those huge buildings on Flood Zone using the XM25. No-one really seems to like using the XM25 except for me and noobs who think it's a semi auto noob tube for some reason.

Xm25s make me rage, im under cover at a place where a m320 cant hit me, then here comes xm25 nades finding me behind the cover and blowing me up, its more aggrovating then snipers. I still perfer the m320 he over it. Now whats fun is if someones behind a building wall damaged and you oaunch a m320 and blow up the wall, that gets them raging.

I'm thankful that the XM25 is pretty underused.

Tried out China Rising today. I'm not a fan of conquest due to the amount of flags but rush is a party. Altai Range is my favorite rush map, followed by Silk Road. Guilin Peaks pisses me off. Haven't played much Dragon Pass. I've unlocked the MTAR and the RPK so far. I don't really like the MTAR. The RPK took some practice, but once I got the stubby on I loved it. You need to micro burst to be successful at med-long range with it though. Looking forward to unlocking the other guns.

the MTAR is the all kit assault rifle. Im not getting any content until i get a ps4

Its cheaper to get premium then buy all the map packs, Each map pack by themselves cost $20 each and all 5 will end up costing $100. Premium is $60 and gives you all map packs + extra content. Although the prices are probably different in other countries.

I don't get why this thread gets no hate for not requiring skill but it's just about the same as CoD and it gets as much hate as possible. Seriously, what sets Battlefield apart from Call of Duty in terms of skill requirement?

thats skill in battlefield. In battlefield kills don't mean much, you get so many more points by doing other stuff such as reviving, spotting, vehicle destruction, healing teammates, reviving, providing cover fire, providing air, ground, naval, and infantry support, repairing vehicles, laser designating targets, transporting people to objectives, capturing objectives, and placing strategic spawn points to go behind enemy lines with a suppressed weapon and weaken enemy lines. Seriously, i can not tell you how many times I have been the MVP in games when i had 9+ less kills than the highest killer
in COD everything is kill based, if you want to provide your team air support you got to go on a kill streak, unlike in battlefield where you can get in any vehicle thats open and provide support.

Yeah I just got this, I was about 8 hrs into the campaign(was having a lot of fun with it). Next thing I know my the game freezes. I reload the corrupt files on the ps3 and get on to start playing again and its telling me I never started a campaign and I have to start over. Yipee

on the third game some dumb noob beached the attack boat so I got in it on the first set of mcoms. But holy crap, I went from level 65-67 in one day with no exp boost. Dumb gold battlepacks giving me crappy emblems

and I got 20 service stars with the ACE23 now :]
I love that gun since no one uses it on console due to obnoxious vert recoil.

Rush is broken, theres so many issues, but that's what makes it more of a teamwork gamemode...

shoot the red boxes located near the prison bars in OP locker to open the bars
arm the ****ing objective
fly high when using tv missiles on attack jets
slugs are crap, do not use
V40 mini nades are the only lethal grenade you should use as there stupendously OP
use smoke grenades when attacking
fly low and hide behind buildings and hills in choppers, AA and MAA are OP

there somewhat accurate, you still do have i think a .2 sec delay if you get hit though. Thats why you die behind cover.

The MP-APS is so ****ing useless. It doesn't stop grenades. It's such a dumb tool with so few purposes there's no way to justify ever using it imo.

Omfg you are SO wrong. Put a ammo box on a tank, pick a spot to camp and provide artillery, but the aps in front of the tank, if you run aps on your tank i beleve you get around 20-40 seconds of enemy tank fire without being hit. Heres the best part, if you have a friend gunning for you, and hes support, you can play offensevly, since MGs are useless against tanks, tell him get out put the mpaps in front of you and you win.
Those things rock.

Did i also mention that they can be reloaded from ammo box instantly? So that vehicle gives ammo perk would go great.

I'm getting the PS4 just for BF4.

In a scale of 1/10, how good do you guys think the game is? What are the cons about it?

The scale is all over the place. Theres so many bugs, a lot of them are false such as the insta kill bug, thats you being headshoted but you dont know since theres no indicator. If you can get into a game with no bugs, its fun. 64 player conquest i have no clue about, im not a huge fan of conquest so i dont play it so much.

Well I'm about to get pissed/bored of Ghosts I might get BF4...or will it make me rage even more? (PS4)

Aside from the bugs BF4 is 10/10

some things I have ran into on PS4 (note: i only play 64 player conquest, so...some of these might be exclusive to that mode?):

When you die, and you go back to the loading screen (conquest), if you hit any button before the screen fades from black to visible, the screen never clears up and remains black [you can't see where you can spawn].

Sometimes the maps don't load sounds correctly.

Occasionally in vehicles it seems like there is a delay or judder, and I am placed a few positions back. This makes flying jets hard since they move quickly, and something seems like it's trying to compensate.

I can't think of anymore at the moment, the first is the most annoying one i've ran into.

the weapon balancing is great but the vehicle balancing is terrible

Mobile AA can obliterate anything in the air from an unlimited range, active radar missiles are super OP since theres no way to counter them and its so easy to use. Also since they can have zuni rockets, they can be used with the 30mm shell and be used like a MBT, can even beat MBTs to if you get first shots off and are facing head on.

Attack jets beat all aircraft. It was supposed to be stealth jets are air supiriority while attack jets is for ground. But attack jets take all

Attack chopper needs to be renamed to the useless chopper, it moves so slow and is so hard to control compared to others. Once you flair, your dead as you move so slow you cant hide behind stuff to break the lock. Scout choppers are dominating attack choppers in air combat and thats not supposed to happen.

Transport helis guns are marshmellows vs infantry, but vs other aircraft are good.

I heard somewhere that a guy who works at Dice will be looking into the AA's. The gunner seat in the attack chopper is great though, if you have someone good flying, you can hover there and mow down anything.

This will probably be the first game I get on PS4 when I get one.

did they fix defuse? the last time I tried to play it I was going bonkers since I didn't die but I would randomly go into spectator mode and my character would vanish.

aha yes. Finnally i can get that damn win all game modes achivements and never have to play that mode again.

yes they are nerfing the begizous out of active radar missiles most likely. The attack chopper is garbage compared to bf3. You spend most your time in the chopper running away as you're out of countermeasures or your waiting for your rockets to reload, and that is a lot. The gunner seat is not as good as in bf3 and got the begizous nerfed out of it. In bf3, the gunner seat was great in assisting your piolit in air to air combat as it had the high ROF, slightly higher damage and higher velocity. Now in bf4, the ROF was nerfed to 600 rpm, damage lowered, and the velocity was nerfed big time. The only thing the gunner seat is really useful now for is taking out infantry. Oh did i also mention the splash damage radius was reduced as well.

but defuse is so much fun :(

try hopping onto american or europe servers. Australia servers blow.

well aggressive =/= constant death. Just learn the maps and where you can push to and you can dominate with decent gun skills. I can show you the ropes if you're still chillin' on the 360.
