If this site fails, so be it. But at least give it a chance.
You can get original customs and wear them without looking like the rest of graal.

Yes, for about a week before someone gets the file from Graal and uploads it to a free site.

Then surely anyone who makes commisioned requests deserves all the hate you're giving this site?

I'm not giving any hate, I'm just pointing out the obvious flaws in the site that mean it can't work. Anyone can take any head or other file for that matter that's uploaded to Graal, once one person buys the image and uploads it to Graal it's only a matter of time before it gets uploaded to another site where they're free. Once it's freely available you're just wasting your money buying the head from Graal Market.

Also I'm fairly sure that once a file becomes uploaded to GraalOnline it becomes property of Toonslab, wouldn't this make selling the heads illegal once they've been uploaded as Toonslab owns them?

oh ****

kenthefruit 09-02-2015 12:01 PM

I don't think that applies here; they sold it before it was Toonslab's property, so what the owner does with it has no further association with the site.

Either way, it's a pretty lame. Was a good concept, just doesn't work too well.

This gets quoted soo many times. There is no issues between graal market and toonslab/unixmad. I am currently discussing with unixmad how we can reduce cheating and make this a safe place for everyone.

I mean, the website looks cool, trendy and up to date with the latest web trends but the idea is horrible - no offence. All of the heads on there are just small edits of default heads anyone could do, whether they do graphics work or not. Good on Shiz and Fae for actually making things from scratch. I wonder how much profit you guys have actually made so far (taking in the fact that a lot of time and money was spent making this website).

I doubt this will take off. Kudos to whoever did the logo and the actual art for the website though, it actually looks really professional. Some parallax scrolling would have been nice :p

Mmmm, "safe".

I only use it for customs to somewhat make a small profit (since my main job pays more,) it's actually somewhat fun.
I actually love the website layout, it has that "smooth" feeling to it, looks sexy.

I don't see how it can get any safer, lol. I mean, it doesn't look stingy at all. I just feel that if something is tied in with Graal Depot it is usually pretty shady. But hey, it looks great. Just as a business idea though, you'd make more money out of genuine heads made from scratch rather than just edits.

Of course, you guys are just whining because its just connected to graaldepot. That is the only reason. if it wasn't, it would be a whole different story. well im not here to scam anyone or be "shady". I just want to provide a serious service . If you don't want it to let it happen then, fine by me.

Why is it connected to Graal Depot anyway? It'd do better as a separate business and more people would be favourable of it too in my opinion. Only thing I can say is just take feedback from those who actually care about giving it, it will help a lot.

This service was created to fix a lot of the problems Graal Depot had in the first place, there may still be tiny loop holes, but overall it gives the artist credit for their work.

Also, just because you don't like someones "edit", doesn't mean someone else won't. Overall I want to thank the developers of Graal Market for giving me a platform for me to provide graphics where I get some credit - rather than no credit at all - for my graphics which I would like to share for others to enjoy.

Why is it connected? because i own graaldepot... that's how it's connected..

Well i could of released it without having it any connections to graaldepot and have a different persona to act behind it. But in the end it's going to be owned both by me.

They aren't really your graphics if you change a few minor details on them i.e. selecting a bit of hair and copying and pasting it to make it longer. I just don't think there should be edits that you have to pay for, they shouldn't even be allowed tbh. It'd be a lot better for the site if it was just all new, never before seen heads. That way you, and your site would make a lot more cash money.

I've seen one or two edits on Market I think. Fae and some others have scratch heads, I'll be producing some soon as well. Over time more Vendors will join, no doubt. :P

Aguzo 09-02-2015 11:15 PM

What I don't like from this site is that the site owner gets part of the cut.

Should just make your own site, would that cost less? OR would using this site be more profitable?

You can make money off of ads and selling content at full cut with your own site.
But, this one you can only make money with what you put, plus the owned gets part of it... doesn't seem like a good idea. Would force people to set their prices higher just to get what they want.

I might sign up and sell stuff, if I find out which is more profitable.

Droid 09-03-2015 03:38 PM

The main appeal to me was that this was easy to do, once accepted.
If air made my own site people would still be like "use ifile and get any head you want"

Considering the owners probably take a portion of that whole entire $2 you get from something being sold, if something gets sold...I'm going to assume not much. But I'm curious to know myself. Won't be surprised if it's $0-$5

Then it's just a scam... if you don't make it to $10, which you most likely won't. Does he keep that money?...

Phantos 09-13-2015 01:41 AM

Huh.

So without doing much more research, has anyone worked here and not been paid fairly? How much do you suppose you deserve? Honestly curious and wiling to help pay for people who may have been cheated.

Fae 09-13-2015 03:07 AM

I've made about $25 now. The only reason the amount is off from what I've actually earned is because of transaction fees from Paypal.

Phantos 09-13-2015 03:16 AM

Nice! Also interesting. How much work did you have to do to earn $25? Could you break it down into a dollar/hour metric, like how a real-world business might? Or was it really based on several projects at a few dollars each?

Honestly I'm not sure; but the customs are pretty easy to make, though time consuming which I guess makes it a lower ratio if it's dollar/hour. I have quite a few things up, so I guess you could say it's several items at a few dollars since each has been purchased at least once.

That's very common for online retailers actually...

Phantos 09-13-2015 06:29 AM

I am very interested in this topic because it's close to my heart. The profiting of other people's work is a serious crime, but artists making a profit on their own art? Using templates and other items the community has offered up, for free? That's, quite frankly, the greatest thing I've heard going on in a long time, as far as Graal Art goes.

But that bootstrap website, mmm. Something about it draws me in while simultaneously making me distrust it.

I understand what you mean, and I'll be honest- the only reason I signed up for this was that if you signed up as a vendor before release, you'd get 100% commission. My thought was that if it didn't work for me, I didn't have to use it, and if it did- great. If I could pay for my own website, a proper cv/portfolio site where I could also sell things and not go through someone, I would.

slyde 09-13-2015 03:42 PM

Hi I just read some of the posts here. I am really curious about this Graal Market. If one wants to be a vendor how does one apply? Is there any requirements such as fees or number of finished work needed to begin? And is it only head that we are allowed to sell, so no fanart or shields?

I also have a question. If a customer buys a head and it is rejected by GraalClassic does it get refunded or is that the customer's risk when buying?

I'm interested in doing some original work if things are the way I think it is.

Also, can anyone explain the paypal process? Like how does one make a paypal account? Is it safe?

PigParty 09-13-2015 04:10 PM

This is BS. Something as simple as a custom getting sold to wear for this game. Anyone who falls for buying these things deserves to lose their money, same to anyone who falls for selling their trash on here.

One person only has to buy and use the head once before it's practically free online for everyone else. The whole system is flawed but whatever I guess. Not like I'm the one losing money.
