Well if dropping is for gifting, and people will complain without the drop, there should be a trade system and a drop system. The trade system could be an option, when you click someone, more actions, then trade. The other player could have the option to deny/accept the trade. Once accepted, you will be brought to a screen to scroll through your items and pick witch ones, and the quantity of each item. If during the trade, you dont want to trade, you could simply hit cancel trade. Once youve selected your items, you and the other player must both clikc trade. You will then be brought to another pop up asking you if you are sure you wanna trade. Then you hit accept. Now you have successfuly traded

I hate it when people in start park saying they got scammed, and when they trade. I say add trading systems for scammed people.

Gamelova 12-15-2012 11:24 PM

Snk said that he would have some sort of system to trade "droppable" items. Where is that?

Kyle Kol 12-16-2012 01:50 AM

If you ask me, Snk is right. All drops should be prohibited so I can stop seeing all the spam at start... "OMG *insert name here* IS A SCAMMER" "Trading *insert item here* for *insert 2nd item here* you first" "Hosting auction" and all other sorts of trade-related spam such as this

No on the trading system. As Street once said, the owners of the game don't want a free economy in which other players can capitalize in certain assets, whether it be guns, melees, or currency. In an open market such as one created by a trading system, the demand for certain items is determined by the supply of the item (infinite, in our case). Prices are set by developers. If we allowed trading of items such as guns, prices will decline way below the original price set for the item. Why? Because when players find no more use for, say, a BAR, they will sell it for a lesser price to appeal to players and use the money to buy a new gun. Eventually the price players set tend to turn into an accepted status quo, which is indefinitely lower than store prices. When this happens, the players' money circulates only through players as opposed to Gralats disappearing when an item in a store is purchased. When money circulates through players, eventually the need for purchasing Gralat Packs is gone as players can just easily sell items to gain money.

This is an issue for any game developer with no outside revenue source. When players are constantly shelling for money, soon all of the money will STAY in circulation through the players, assuming items are bought at lower prices from other players (which any rational player will do). When this happens, TONS of money will be, and stay in the economy which ultimately defeats the purpose of buying packs. This means no revenue for the game owners. Our current system regulates this by forcing players to buy items in-store. Having money disappear when items are bought in-store lessens the amount of money circulating in the economy. When there is less money going around, players are more inclined to buy Gralat packs - that is where game owners make their profit.

Kyle Kol 12-16-2012 04:42 AM

Talon... That actually makes sense. But just in case you read that and didn't get it I'll put that more simply: The game has an infinite amount of guns. Now if we were able to trade them they would get passed around instead of getting individually sold. No one wants to pay a higher price than the shop price. So players need money and don't need certain guns. They sell those for cheaper than shop price. That's when it gets messed up... The players can sell their guns to other players instead of buying gralats packs. The developers lose money and are forced to shut the game down. It's Graal-a-geddon.

You guys could add a trading system and a button to allow gifting to a friend -like you tap on the players profile then tap more options then trade it opens up a menu where you could trade items the player accepts the items and no scam. Aslo there will be a button some whereon the menu where it says gift you press it and the other player accepts the gift. This could be a great way for no scamming and gifting

Rhettman_23 12-17-2012 04:24 AM

I don't want Era to make things not droppable anymore. I know there are scammers out there (including me sometimes) but think of that 5% of players out there are legit. If items weren't droppable that would stink because people including me want something that we dream to get. We can't get that item if they weren't droppable. So please don't do this.

V. 12-18-2012 05:20 PM

Can't we just have a different currency for selling/buying?
If we do that, you could buy other stuff with the new currency. Era still makes money and we get to sell our stuff.

Jesse_Kim 12-22-2012 02:30 AM

I say we SHOULD have a trade system because it makes Era look bad that you can't trade nor give others money. I also agree that there shouldn't be one. I'm kinda on both sides but I'd prefer trade system because of people trading their hard earned EC for items that they trade and get scammed. I also think there should be because scamming is really simple to fix.... But I thought about a trade system but it would probably be able to glitch not to give items, but then I thought why not add if someone removes a item that it cancels the other persons accept and puts it back to pending.. Just a thought not a force judgement for a trade system! :)

Pro and Con list

Nothing droppable
Pro
  • No more crying
  • People earn what they have

Con
  • Unable to give things away to gang as prizes
  • Unable to gift friends on birthdays/special events
  • Unable to help out nubs by giving them shells and a melee(Yes it happens)
  • Increased account theft/resets?
  • Less of a community, more of a solo game

Everything droppable
Pro
  • You can do everything in the Con list of nothing droppable
  • People get scammed something worth high value, they learn more
  • Able to drop the stuff that takes up so much space (guns, useless melees etc)
  • People will be more cautious!

Con
  • People will be dumb enough to get scammed something worth 100+k

My views

I agree on everything here. why don't we just make everything PK, and everything droppable? It'd be total anarchy, and survival of the fittest, noobs would curl up and die. See, we can either take away dropping, and have people call era a "strict force of evil" (noobs call era that, its funny.) or make everything droppable and have every player in era cry and cry. Jester forgot one pro/con of everything being droppable, and that is that gang leaders and members can spread around weapons so that everyone has top of the line gear and items, making gangs extremely more beneficial and easy to cheat off of. Not sure if this is a pro or con, cause it goes either way. Personally, I think you should make the most expensive weapons droppable, heres why:

Pros:
•Gangs are more balanced, weapons are shared and therefor OP weapons become more balanced
•Base raiding becomes easier as you can get people guns attuning to your strengths
•Gang leaders would spend butt tons of money getting their noob members good guns.

Cons:
• iEras gun market would die due to easy distribution of weapons, eliminating players' need to dig or buy gralat packs
•gang less noobs would be outgunned
•Auctions would become less popular, as you could scam the rare things quickly

Despite all this, i support having expensive guns (BAR, PBP, Shipka, Tec-9, Souzien, Luger, M4, etc.) become droppable.

AgentBaby 04-09-2013 05:59 AM

uhm if we had extra items and we cannot drop it what now ?

I disagree completely.
As an active member of the graal community for the past 13 years, I happen to know for a fact that the only reason trading is enabled on PC Era and not on iEra is primarily due to profit.
Stefan won't allow us to trade because HE is the greedy one.
Edit: The reason I say this is because by there being no trading, his profit goes up by more gralat spenders. I.E. pay to win.

I see no harm in a legit trading center that would allow players to share the limited items they have earned in the first place that they no longer wish to acquire.
Edit: And what I mean here, is that there should be a trading system that PREVENTS players from getting scammed in the first place. I can think of at least 3 different ways. The system PC Era has, being the best one in mind.

Disabling the dropping of items feature is just going to lose more of your player base. (:
Give the people what they want.

Khai 04-10-2013 01:09 AM

Here is my trading system opinion.

How about clicking on the player and going to the More Actions, then clicking an button to trade like Mark! said, they can accept or decline. They then get a pop-up to a trading system, heres my idea...

We add an option in which the player can pay nothing in return for the desired item, then they can trade without being scammed and gift at the same time.

Now there are some complaints about which items to drop, no dropping at all, and dropping all items. They won't have to worry since they won't get scammed by the advanced system.

Best Regards,
viy

I don't think that will work because it leads to intentional spamming of trade requests by players. Maybe if there was a once-a-day thing, or maybe an option to disable trade requests. But I like how the idea included gifting and trading at the same time.
In my opinion, Event Coin items, guns, and normal and buyable melees should not be tradable; only "rares", sellables, and auction items should be tradable.

It could be like gang invites where maybe you can only request to trade with someone every five minutes.

Also, they should definitely add a pop-up once you accept the trade saying "Are you sure you would like to trade?" Just in case someone accidentally presses accept.

Encar Graal 04-10-2013 02:06 AM

In my opinion, we should make everything non droppable(avoids scamming), make a trade system, and make everything droppable in the trade system only.

Oh... Oh my god... A thread actually worth viewing. This is quite something. But didn't admins remove the drop function a while ago? And people hated it? So they bought it back. I'd like it if players could auction off their own items at the auction house and they can choose who's offer they'd like to take.

well u know how we can giv dolls to each other? yeah maybe the trading system should work like that? but you dont need to pay of course. My idea goes something like this:
PERSON1: (taps 'trade' button)
"type the name of the person you want to trade with"
PERSON1: (types name 'PERSON2')
"confirm?
PERSON1: (taps 'confirm')

PERSON2: (gets a message saying: PERSON1 would like to trade their ______, do you accept?)
PERSON2: (taps 'accept')
"what would you like to trade in return?"
PERSON2: (chooses item or itemS from inventory. Taps "TRADE")
"ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO TRADE THE ITEM/ITEMS FOR PERSON1's ITEMS?(SHOW PICTURES)
PERSON2: (taps 'confirm')
"YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU WANT TO TRADE?"-message to both players
PERSON1: ('CONFIRM')
PERSON2: ('CONFIRM')
"YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TRADED!"
